It is accurate to say that They don't require reconstitution (like sun dried tomatoes) since they're not dry like that. Despite their softness, they still have some energy left. Despite the size and flavor, they are moist and large. Using them in cooking and baking is a pleasure for me. Adding them to smoothies is also a good idea. They can also be eaten right out of the box for a quick snack. These are perfect for anyone who loves dates.
They seemed to be pitted, so I assumed. It looks like they should have been, based on their packaging. My food processor almost broke because of the pits, so I just tossed them in.
There are many Medjool dates available at Whole Foods and the Bard Valley brand has the best flavor. I will not look at other dates after experiencing these as they are so clean, moist, and taste so good. You can purchase them pitted or not pitted so just remember that when adding them to your cart. The pitted packaging has yellow on the seals and the non-pitted packaged has red. It is green on the seal when it is pitted. It is unpleasant to eat dates from other brands because they are dry, hard, and covered in peeling skin. It is impossible to compare the Bard Valley brand to anything else.
Dates like these are big and fresh, not dried out and shriveled like some dates are. There are no words to describe how delicious they are. Medjool dates with pits are my preference when I can find them, but I have never encountered any as nice as these dates. The product is definitely worth reordering.
