Questions & Answers

Has anyone experimented with seitan with this? It's the dough, not the cooking broth. ?

Hello, no, I haven't put it in the dough, but it makes a fantastic broth. Why don't you give it a shot and report back to us? Enjoy! 😊

How did they manage to make a chicken broth without chicken taste like chicken?

I make vegan Steaks and Vegan Burgers with spices and autolyzed yeast that taste exactly like real burgers and real steak. Spices and autolyzed yeast are two of my favorite ingredients. I believe the flavor would both surprise and delight you. This stock is used to make a meatless chicken soup that will astound you. Of course, I used soy curls to make the chicken chunks in it.

What's the hue of the caramel? Caramel was supposed to be made with milk, right?

Milk is used in the preparation of caramel. This Just has the same coloring as the original, but it's vegan. The product does not contain any caramel.

What are the ingredients in this dish? Thanks! ?

The following is taken from the label: br>Maltodextrin, sea salt, yeast extract, dehydrated onion, caramel color, natural flavor, gum acacia, white pepper

This is everything you need to know about the product!! This item was delivered to me yesterday
3/5

was very enthusiastic. I made a kale-based soup. The first thing I noticed was how salty it was, but I like the flavor so I figured I wouldn't add any more salt to anything I cooked with it. Does it have a "beefy" flavor? as in "Yes! It passes the "taste test," and I was excited to use it to make seitan meat. Today, however, I read the back of the package and discovered the ingredients. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. GMO ingredients, with maltodextrin as the first and salt as the second (which INCLUDES sea salt), in contrast to the front label, which gives the impression that sea salt is the only salt used. Gum acacia (whatever that is) (840 mg, by the way) Of course, "natural flavor" is a code word for "food with no flavor. " This product's front label has been touting the fact that it is vegan the entire time. I'm embarrassed that I didn't check the ingredients on the back label. THEY SHAME ON THEM FOR DESCRIBING THIS AS VEGAN. GMO ingredients are being used.

Maltodextrin is a type of sugar that can be used to make a variety take it seriously I was hoping to fall in love with this product and include it in my IF
3/5

I'm not sure why I didn't check the ingredient list before purchasing. UGH. Stay away from it if you're on a keto or LCHF diet. Maltodextrin is a highly processed sweetener made from starchy plants such as rice, corn, or wheat, and it has the same number of calories and carbs as regular sugar. It causes an increase in blood glucose and an increase in insulin. The first ingredient on the list is this one. Each flavor was purchased in a jar. silly me.

French onion soup is back on the menu, and it has an excellent flavor
5/5

Okay, this is incredible. I admit that I haven't had meat in years, but this stuff tastes so much like beef broth that I can't tell the difference between it and the real thing. My wife was craving French onion soup, which was a family favorite and is one of those winter comfort foods, so I went online to look for a beef broth substitute and read reviews. I chose the Orrington Farms Broth Base and am very pleased with my decision. It's fantastic, and my wife agrees; we'll wait a night and then eat the soup as leftovers. Now, here's some information that you might find useful: br>br>Easy to put together- Yesbr>In small or large batches, it tastes great- Yes, I've used one cup of water and six cups of water for the soup, and there's no difference. br>Stores well- Yes, it's a powder, which means it'll last for years and take up far less space than liquid broths. br>Negative-- To my taste, this has a lot of salt (but not to the point of being unpleasant). To be fair, my wife claims that she didn't find it too salty. I am salt-sensitive because I rarely use it in my cooking, but this seemed excessive. I would love it if that salt level was 25% lower. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It has an odd odor to it. Sort of like a tad "off" piece of meat. That's due to the yeast extract, which isn't bad enough to make me dislike the broth. It still gets five stars from me. br>Another point to consider is that This broth has a strong onion flavor (before I added my own onions).

What's the deal with the meat? It's not in this vegan product, but based on the taste, you'd swear it's there somewhere
5/5

I wanted to give it a try after reading the reviews. My order had just arrived from Amazon, and the first thing I did was open the jar and measure out 2 teaspoons into a cup of cold tap water. I continued to stir until all of the powder had dissolved. For the sake of experimentation, I microwaved it for 80 seconds. Oh, the aroma. What an amazing scent! And the flavor is incredible. For health reasons, I had to go almost entirely vegan, and this broth base has quickly become my new favorite beef flavoring. I liked the comment in one review about using it to flavor veggie crumbles for a beefier taco meat flavor. A former meat and cheese connoisseur gives it 5 stars! Well, I still enjoy meat and cheese; it's just that my cholesterol levels don't reciprocate.

Quite tasty
5/5

This is a fantastic base for vegan and vegetarian dishes. The meaty flavor of this base is undeniable. We have both meat eaters and vegetarians in the house, so we made jackfruit "carne guisa," which is simply stewed "beef" over rice, and it was a hit with everyone. Whatever meat substitute you're using, we recommend marinating in this base for a day to bring out the flavor. It comes in the form of a powder that you dissolve in boiling water before using to season your food. So far, we've only found this at Whole Foods, and it was about a dollar more, so this is a better deal!.

For Pho, I really like this product
5/5

This is a fantastic product that I use to make Pho. Prior to becoming vegetarian, I had never made real beef pho, so I have no idea what it takes to make it. It was a vegan Pho batch that I made first! LOL It's insane. Anyways. It was fantastic. I assumed I'd have to make a vegetable pho broth because the flavors in this would be artificial, and I prefer to keep things as natural as possible. Then I looked at the ingredient lists, and it wasn't half bad! Seasoning is all there is to it. I looked up the ingredients on the internet, and they appeared to be fairly natural. The only criticism I have is the price, which I paid $8 for. This (the year 2015) has a score of 99. I ordered Orrington Farms Chicken Vegan from Amazon, which was very expensive, and then I discovered it for half the price at my local grocery store, so I stocked up instead of ordering from Amazon. I'm still looking for this BEEF one in the stores around here. This is a product that I would strongly recommend!.

This is a fantastic flavor
5/5

I've used Orrington Farms flavoring in chicken, beef, and ham for years. Loved it. After that, we decided to become vegans. Our meals lacked the extra flavoring we were used to. I was ecstatic to discover that it was vegan-friendly. This is used in everything that calls for beef, including beef gravy. We've already gone through a lot of beef containers (at one of our stables). The same can be said for the chicken and ham (both of which are delicious in bean soup). We didn't use as much vegetable flavoring because we had liquid vegetable broth on hand, but it still tasted great. For the small jar, it's a bit pricey, but it's definitely worth it. These aren't available in stores that are vegan.
