It is called Rigati #57 when sold by Delallo and Tubetti when sold by another manufacturer. The only thing I know is that it used to be a common shape in the United States. The book has since become difficult to locate. Growing up, I used the pasta to make several different types of pasta salads, and other pasta shapes, such as the elbow or shell, were not as tasty. I purchased this DeLallo at my local Whole Foods one day when it was on sale. There is nothing like the first-quality pasta. It is toothsome and delicious. Since I love this pasta so much, I choose to buy it from Amazon for a lot less money than buying it from Target, plus it ships for free with Prime shipping. This is a highly recommended product.

Real macaroni ditalini actually exist on Amazon, and you can also buy a package of them! I grew up eating macaroni salad made by Grandma, and now I can make it as well. I'm so glad you found it! The fact that it's organic just makes me giddy!.
