The quality of this item dissatisfied me so much that I meant to post this review shortly after I purchased it. As this was very near its expiration date, the lack of aroma and flavor, as well as the grassy taste, cannot be attributed to the fact that it was approaching expiration. As an added bonus, the color is not very attractive. It is a good looking but unappealing brownish green hue. I think this is a great idea- While having a lot of something you can't really use isn't a huge plus, having a small jar is useful. It was just replaced by a brand new one. If I keep it, it's solely because of its color flecks in something that tastes similar to parsley, such as soup or pasta salad however, I'd be concerned about the smell of outdoor cut grass, since it may affect the recipe's taste.
My first impression could have been that it was the same olive green as the ones I saw at I tend to think this is mostly unimportant in the taste, but it's not as pretty in potato salad, so I believe it must be older. It has not yet been tried by me. One time, I grew basil in my garden and dried it. There is more beauty in this photo than here. This will be taken care of by me. My old one was almost gone, so it needed to be replaced.
If basil is of good quality, then you can freeze it, dry it or make pesto, which I make every year. Last year, I had problems with black mold in my crop. Due to the fact that I've bought Simply Organic herbs before and always been happy with them, I bought this basil and was quite pleased. I could not smell any aroma and the color indicated that the wine was I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it.
Fresh picked is as close as you can get to the taste of fresh fruit.
It does not taste or have any flavor of basil. The best option is to buy.
