Questions & Answers

The basil on this plant is Thai or Italian? Is there a Thai version that I could get?

Thai basil is not the same as Mediterranean basil. Thailand is familiar to me, as I grow a lot of it in my garden.

What country was he born in?

Located in Egypt, McCormick Culinary Basil Leaves are sourced from there. Unlike many cross-border products, this one is blended and packaged within the United States. The following list applies to

Besides working like basil leaves, what makes this different? Other than the cost being 150% of the regular product?

What you mean by different doesn't make any sense to me. In both cases, there are very distinct uses. In either case, dried products do not have the same efficacy as fresh ones. I make tomato sauce or similar recipes, I use an entire stalk of fresh basil and the flavour is not available when dried basil is used. The dried leaves can be crushed for a little bit more flavor, but not much why would you pay a higher price for The added taste of whole dried grains in winter months makes them a nice addition to soup and It is far more convenient to use crushed leaves instead. You can't tell me the difference in taste if you didn't know your recipe. The purest would roast me, but the chef comes up with the recipe. As a result of the additional handling costs, the price of whole leaves should be higher. As for the quality of the product, we love it, as well as its dependable results and taste. No tomato salad or pizza would be complete

ACTUALLY, THERE ARE A LIVE bug in the basil! That's right, I'm not lying
3/5

As much as I would like to be. This is a gross piece of work. The ground was covered with tiny brown insects that looked like ticks. In addition to the basil I found in the same jar, I also destroyed other plants. The product hasn't even been invented yet, so how exactly is it even being sold? Are pests included in the free offer?
I would strongly encourage you to stay far away from this horrific product and seller!.

The product should not be purchased

I don't know what to make of this! Having a brownish appearance, no dates on it, and smelling of black licorice, it's kind of odd. Quite similar to tarragon, in fact. There will be a trash can full of this. I am not going to use this since it does not have an expiration date.

It looks like this is going to last us quite a while

It always seems that I run out of basil because we love stuffed pastas so much (raviolis and tortellinis) but we don't like heavy cheese or tomato sauces. So I usually make lemon butter basil sauce instead. There is one stick of salt-free butter in the sauce, which is what I call 1,2,3 sauce. Put 2 tablespoons of basil in the pan. *Can double it by using 3 table spoons lemon juice (about 1 lemon or just juice). Anyway, this is where I'll get my basil from here on out!.

There is no point in spending more money on 'culinary'

This was an OK basil, but with less flavor, so it took a lot at a time to cook. I've had basil that was MUCH better, although not as good.

I like the smell and taste, but the powder has a stale aftertaste
3/5

It became a bit more difficult to see the contents of the bottle since the basil leaves had settled into fine dust. I observed that it appears about 2/3 full. It had a good aroma and a good flavor, but I have I haven't noticed any bugs so far as other users have complained about. You might be taking your chances with this if you're looking for the more traditional minced leaves. There is nothing noteworthy in this case.

It was a huge improvement over our homemade pizza sauce and our chicken parmesan sauce. I already made two sauces from this container marinara and pasta sauce.

A great value for the money! As it turned out, my product was not old at all

It was within a few months of a spice from my local store that I had to buy at the same time as my product. I'll be ordering all the spices I will need from this site from now on.

The cost per ounce is good for budgeting

Our journey through basil is complete! To make sure the container wasn't empty in a week or two, I wanted one with a lot of storage space. Even though these don't have the best color, they will do for the day and nighttime. During the day, I cook. Although McCormick has a few special items for special occasions, I usually depend on its reliability.
