Unfortunately, this is unlikely. Almost all spices deteriorate over time, and the majority of them lose their 'punch' in a year or less.
There are 5 grams of product in this package.
Isn't it true that Spanish saffron isn't all that it's cracked up to be? However, this product is far inferior to real saffron in terms of quality.

I had never purchased saffron before placing this order. I was making a Spanish chicken dish and wanted to use real Spanish saffron, as instructed in the recipe. My purchase has made me extremely happy. The container's contents weighed a total of one ton. The weight is 86 grams (rounded up to 2 grams). I've included two photos: one with a US quarter to give you an idea of scale for the container's size, and another to show you how full it is.
When I first opened the case, it was almost overwhelming. It's a great safron, and the tops of the stems are the perfect bright red color. Without a doubt, this is high-end safron. I'm going to cook with it in the next few days, most likely rice, and I can't wait. I haven't cooked with safron in years and am excited to try it again, even though I've eaten meals prepared with it by others. I didn't expect it to be this good after ordering it online, but it was just as good as or better than anything else I've ever bought, so don't hesitate to buy it here. It's also packed in a tight-fitting case that's a little difficult to open, but that's exactly how I like it. I can't wait to try it out at my next meal.

The color as well as the aroma are both excellent. br>br>I've made a half-dozen paellas with this saffron and am very pleased with the results. In this case, I find that a "pinch of saffron" goes a little too far, but to be honest, my partner and I prefer paella with a strong saffron flavor, aroma, and color. Again, at this price, you can get away with a few extra threads in a dish. As an additional anecdotal confirmation, I've seen the same brand of saffron in Asturias and Galicia markets. This saffron is a steal at just over $5 per gram!.
It's amazing how two different saffron packages can be on completely opposite ends of the spectrum. This packaging is flimsy, the saffron has no flavor, there's no way to get your money back, and the petals float in hot water. They appear to be cut or split in some way as well. The metal tin is 1000% better, with a strong pungent scent of good solid saffron in it. Saffron stems in their entirety. Sink to the very bottom of the sea. The metal tin will add a lot of flavor to your dish. This package is a waste of time and money; it simply isn't the same.
Despite some negative feedback, this saffron has a pleasant flavor and aroma. Add 5- If you add 8 stamens to a cup of dried rice, the cooked rice will turn a nice yellow color and have a better taste and smell. You may have to put in a little more effort than you would with a higher grade of saffron, but the price difference more than compensates. The plastic box is my only criticism. My spouse and I spent a few minutes trying to figure out how to open it - hint: there's a lip on the bottom that pulls down.

It's perfectly acceptable to use saffron on a regular basis. br>However, in comparison to other (more expensive) saffron on Amazon, don't expect it to have the strongest aroma or color intensity. br>It's also not as dry as some of the other saffron I've had before, so grinding it into a powder takes a little more effort. br>Its potency isn't as high as other saffron (need to use more to achieve similar color intensity). )br>br>THAT HAS BEEN SAID- I still give it a five-star rating. I give this saffron five stars, and I strongly advise you to use it as your "daily driver"! Without Zafran, it's impossible to make Persian dishes.
It's been purchased. Saffron is a costly spice that isn't widely available. It's both cost-effective and convenient to buy it from Amazon. I've purchased the 5 gram container from Amazon on several occasions. Now I only purchase the 2 gram containers. They're a little more expensive per gram, but they're perfect for me. I make saffron chicken with half of the container (or 1 gram) and saffron rice with the other half (1 gram), both of which are delicious, especially when made with organic white rice and organic free range chicken.
