Exceptional Quality and Authenticity - I like to leave reviews to assist both inexperienced and experienced saffron buyers because saffron is the most expensive piece (by weight) and is frequently faked. Even in grocery stores, I've come across a lot of fakes. This isn't a forgery. Authenticity tests include smelling and evaluating threads after they have been soaked in water. Fake saffron will do a number of things that will make it obvious that it isn't genuine. br>br>After a few threads have been added to some water, the water should be bright yellow and clear, but the threads should retain their dark color throughout. Fake saffron produces water that is not only less vibrant but also murky. When the dye on fake threads wears off, the threads begin to disintegrate, and some of the threads turn a white color. br>br>As you can see in the photos, the water is bright yellow and clear. All of the threads remained dark and in their original shape. On one photo, I even removed the threads from the water to demonstrate that they had not disintegrated. br>br>The aroma was strong and fresh, and it tasted great. Finally, the pictures show a large quantity of items. They didn't scrimp on the product, as some retailers don't always pack the full quantity as advertised. This time, however, that was not the case. br>br>Based on what I've seen, I strongly suggest it. You should be able to buy saffron with confidence that it is of high quality and authentic.
I purchase a few ounces of saffron every year and have done so for over 20 years. I've experimented with a variety of brands and saffrons from all over the world. I've also left a few Amazon reviews. This is excellent merchandise, one of the best I've purchased on the internet in the last two years. Several Persian and Afghani saffron sellers have appeared on Amazon in the last three years. Without a doubt, almost all of them are of above-average quality. Lidoma, Zaran, and Golden sold Iranian saffron on Amazon, while Redsaf sold Afghani saffron. Saffrons of good to excellent quality were used in all of them. My benchmark used to be a bottle of coupe spanish saffron from Costco online, which has one of the best saffrons on the market and each bottle comes with an actual lab analysis report; I never got anything below a score of 230 and frequently exceeded 250. br>This one is definitely 250 quality, and the aroma is so strong that I think it's the best I've ever encountered. Although the threads are average in size, the overall quality is exceptional. Almost every vendor starts with a low price and gradually raises it as their reputation grows. On Amazon, there are a number of Persian saffron sellers, the majority of whom sell high-quality saffron. The only issue I have is that it was supposed to be used for a Thanksgiving special dish and it did not arrive on time. The shipping was sloppy and didn't accomplish the goal. It's a seller or Amazon logistics issue that has nothing to do with the product's quality, but that's no excuse for not following through on the delivery promise.
Not only is there a lack of threads in this product, but it's also lifeless and colorless, which is the polar opposite of what you want in a saffron. The odor is also so light that it's almost undetectable. existent. Is it necessary for me to comment on the taste? There's also no sign of it. It's almost as if I'm not using any spices at all; what a waste of money.
I received a sealed package that was empty. I had no trace or smell of saffron after opening the container, so it was empty and not eligible for return.
When you open the little box, it smells like saffron, but the food doesn't taste like it. I kept adding more and more, up to 5 times what I usually do, but there was no taste or flavor. The container, on the other hand, has a distinct saffron aroma. That leads me to believe that either the saffron is of poor quality and loses its flavor in the food, or the stuff in the box is artificially flavored.
What a complete squandering of funds. br>br>The scent is a smidgeon of tobacco, cut with some strange chemical, when it should smell like a mix of hay and honey. It also doesn't taste as authentic as it smells. It should taste bitter and astringent when you put a few threads on your tongue, but this stuff has almost no flavor, and what flavor it does have matches its strange chemical odor. I wish I had read the one-star reviews before purchasing instead of just looking at the overall rating. br>br>I wish I had read the one-star reviews before purchasing instead of just looking at the overall rating.
A small amount of water will not turn golden when using this product. It also has an insect and chemical odor. If it hadn't given the food I made with vanilla bean an off flavor, I would have given it a higher rating. From now on, I'll only buy spices from well-known companies. I'd had enough of it.
