Because there is no lip on the saffron tin like there is on a caviar tin, I had to use a flathead screwdriver to open it. My solution wasn't perfect because it resulted in a small dent and scratches on the tin, but it worked for me. I flipped the can over and wedged the screwdriver between the two parts until the seal broke, then I held one part and twisted the other with the help of a silicone baking mat. This isn't saffron in its true form. I put it through several tests, including a water test, a smell test, a trumpet test, and a finger rub test, all of which it failed. I was really looking forward to using this saffron in my cooking and ice cream, but it turned out to be a dud.
False advertising irritates me more than anything else. I ordered 5 grams of this product, but only received 4 grams when I weighed it after it was opened. That is a complete rip-off, in my opinion. You can only fool me once.
This is an excellent product that is less expensive than Persian Saffron. It doesn't have the same scent as the original, but it provides the same color. As a result, many people have called it a hoax. This is not a hoax! Because of the difference in quality, Spanish saffron is less expensive. If you need a larger amount of something in your cooking, this is the tool to use.
It's also nearly impossible to open! Any openers won't work because it's too small! I won't be able to come back! This is a terrible product!!.
I spent four years as a child in Madrid, and I recall my mother making paella and the entire house smelling of saffron. This product does not even come close to delivering that aroma or flavor; it does, however, turn water yellow and resembles saffron, but I have no idea what it is. If that means anything, the tin it came in isn't the same as the one shown on Amazon. I'm still looking for genuine Spanish saffron, and the last three purchases I've made have left me disappointed. br>I have my mother's Paella pan and plan to honor her memory by recreating one of our family's favorite dishes in the future, but not with this product.
Saffron of excellent quality and authenticity. When threads are submerged in water, they turn a bright yellow color, but the red tint remains. It has a strong flavor and aroma. Saffron rice and golden milk were two of my favorite dishes growing up. This is an excellent deal!.
However, after 30 minutes of unsuccessful attempts to open the tin, I'm not sure whether I should pound it open or return it. This saffron was something I'd like to try.
It was presented in a very professional manner. As well, it arrived on time. Some will go into the kitchen, and others will be used for natural dyeing! I was also ecstatic to find a coupon for it.
