The mustard in this jar is the type of mustard used in Chinese cuisine, not While technically this product is labelled as mustard, it is totally misleading, since it tastes nothing like yellow mustard and destroys any recipe calling for yellow mustard. This is the kind of mustard that you get at a Chinese restaurant. There is a slight bitterness and a lot of spice to it. Besides being hotter than raw horseradish, it also tastes like a condiment. In order for me to make my own sodium-free barbecue sauce, I needed this ingredient. In the end, I wasted a pint's worth of ingredients to make this powder that completely ruined my recipe. It became inedible, and it tasted vile. Comparing it to the little mustard packets you get at Chinese restaurants, this is a great example of the kind of flavor you'd find there. The stuff here is really good if that's what you're looking for. For those expecting yellow mustard, that's not at all the case.
Likewise, ginger and turmeric combined with curcumin provide a good boost to the immune system. It is refreshing to have a little spice and a bit of sweetener (I use agave) mixed with some hot water and oat milk, or have it iced with a little milk. This is also beneficial for tummy problems.
I bought this to use as a mustard/epsom salt bath.
This was ordered so that I could make mustard. Upon making my first batch, I tasted it and found that it tasted rancid I'd like to spit it out and gag a lot. My first attempt was ruined, so I made a second one to make sure that I didn't mess up the recipe. I'm just as bad as you. In the last few days, I had already used all the other ingredients. The mustard powder, however, was a new item. I concluded that it was the problematic element.
I go through a lot of spices as a food trailer owner. Our customers are very satisfied with the quality, freshness and taste of the food. The Mustard we use in our BBQ rub is made from this mustard.
Whenever I set out Asian appetizer trays, I use a lot of dry mustard. If you add a little water, it becomes an amazing dipping sauce for eggs rolls, etc. Great flavor, and the price is so great!.
Considering its price and freshness, it is worth buying. The bitter taste it produces in my food is not something I enjoy. Not a trace of mustard flavor can be detected. Rather than make mustard seasoning with this mustard, I am going back to using the yellow mustard I usually use for marinating.
Although I like the taste of hot Chinese mustard you can get in restaurants, the price isn't too bad for the price. There were reviews stating it was spicy, but apparently that does not mean it was.
