There are two shades of brown in this picture. The vendor has been my vendor of choice two times. I found the flaxseed meal to be fresh and tasty every time. Here is some information that might help
You should keep this food refrigerated (up to 6 months) after opening OR store in the freezer for up to a year to preserve freshness.

It is easy to use and of great quality. One of the things I was surprised by about the bag was how it closed. This bag does not use a zipper (like a ziplock bag) but instead uses a velcro closure This type of closure is used. Since the flax meal contains fine grains, the zipper will be less likely to seal well, and the velcro-adhesive will be less likely to stick to the zipper. The type of closure is perfect. I will keep an eye out for Bob's Red supplies on other items to make sure the quality and closure is great!.
I am a big fan of all their products. It is the most affordable price I can find for flaxseed, a source of oil that could possibly have a rancid taste if it isn't absolutely fresh, The product comes wrapped in a resealable bag which keeps it fresh a long time.
The zipper on this product is unlike any I have seen before, and I wish that it was on every item with a zip closure! The product is extremely tasty, and I will certainly be ordering it.
There has been a decrease in the ability of some stores to keep baking staples in stock/or to obtain larger quantities. Gluden, flaxmeal, and bread flour (more than 5 pounds) are the products I am discussing. Those of us who bake for ourselves (and for our families and neighbors) have no choice but to turn to the Internet for recipes. Locally-made products are not available to me at the moment, but I'd like to be able to purchase them. I was able to receive the flaxmeal within one week of placing my order. My order arrived on time and I am extremely satisfied with it.
During the past year, I have used this flaxseed to make peanut butter cookies, waffles, and bread. There are some people who dislike flaxseed, but I think it tastes great both in my recipes and as a raw food. Having a great taste, good quality, and good value is what Bobs Red Mill is all about.
There is just one thing I know about flaxseed That it is good for you and that I put it in my shakes and salads. You can get a lot of fiber from it.
The product arrived very quickly and I am very pleased with it. Packaged well and fresh tasting, the flax meal was in good shape. My next order will be from this vendor.
The evening after I eat it, I put it into my yogurt.
