This spice blend has no added preservatives. Dextrose is a sugar that comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Silicon dioxide prevents clumping in the mixture. It isn't a preservative in any way.
It's mostly used in a shrimp, catfish, or any other fish entree dip that I make. It's also delicious as a dip for French fries. 3 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon catsup, and 1/4 teaspoon Beau Monde With a squirt or two of hot sauce, it can be amplified. Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl, then chill for a few minutes before serving. Beau Monde is my favorite!

This was a pleasant surprise when I discovered it on Amazon. It's a spice blend I frequently use. I couldn't find it in any of my local supermarkets recently. I know I could make the basic ingredients on my own, but reaching for the Spice Island jar is so much easier. And I'm not sure why, but this always appears to be superior to my homemade version. Maybe it's the flavor balance? Dill dip: Mayonnaise, sour cream, dried dill weed (fresh is even better), and plenty of Beau Monde!.
I "Prime"d this because it was called for in an old recipe from a wild rice and game meat cookbook. br>br>Incidentally, when I did a search, I came across a claim that Ernest Hemingway allegedly used it to grill hamburgers. It's easy to see why this seasoning is used on meats. br>br>When I got it, I had just finished making steaks and had to give it a try. My husband and I both had nostalgic flashbacks but couldn't put our finger on what they were about - It's a familiar feeling. Is it possible that this is commonly used in restaurants? br>br>In any case, feel free to season almost anything with it! YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM YUM.
For the past 50 years, I've used Spice Island Beau Monde Seasoning. It became difficult to find in local supermarkets a few years ago. It's the ideal seasoning for a variety of my dishes, including: My special chicken casserole, my homemade salad dressing, and a variety of other dishes are just a few of my favorites. I attempted but failed to duplicate it. I was concerned that the Spice Island Company had closed its doors. It was fantastic to find it on Amazon. Yea!.
This firm appeals to me a lot. This is the first time I've had a problem with a product. br>br>I'm afraid that for someone like me who loves salt, this is far more than I can use in a seasoning. br>br>I'm trying to figure out how to "cut" it so that I can use it. (This sounds like drug talk!) br>br>(This sounds like drug talk!) LOL! )br>br>Excellent business, but only for this one item. Sorry for the inconvenience. br>br>.
My parents taught me how to do this. Both cooked and served this with their Rib Eye steaks, which they ate about two or three times per week. After that, my husband learned how to use it, and it's still the only seasoning I use on meats today. Steaks and lamb chops, in particular, are favorites. I also add a pinch of garlic salt to most of the meats we broil, and they always turn out perfectly; the label suggests other uses, but I only use it on meats. This item is becoming increasingly scarce in grocery stores, particularly Raley's, Bel Air Stores, and Safeway, where I live in Roseville, a town north of Sacramento. In fact, the Spice Island line as a whole is dwindling. Strange, given how long I've been using their spices. So, best of luck, and be thankful you can get this on Amazon.
It goes well with buttered noodles and popcorn. br>br> It should also work well with chicken, especially breast meat, in my opinion. and eggs. br>br>However, keep in mind that it is quite salty.
Beau Monde has been my go-to spot for a while now. For years, I've been adding spices to a spice blend - It's a staple in my soups and salads, and I wouldn't be able to live without it. I've been unable to find it in any of my local grocery stores for quite some time, so I'm overjoyed to find it on Amazon, albeit at a somewhat inflated price.
There's a strong celery scent to this. It has a unique flavor. I'm not sure how many dishes this seasoning would be suitable for. If the recipe specifically calls for this seasoning, I believe you'd need a lot of spices to make it yourself. It would be simpler to buy this seasoning already prepared. With celery, garlic, onion, and other ingredients, it's almost like seasoning salt.
