Since it does not list gluten on the package, and since it does not indicate "Gluten Free", the answer is NO, it isn't gluten free. However, since it is probably packaged in a facility where gluten items are packaged, it is actually gluten.
Starting with mix in a plastic bag was also an option for me. I then realized that I couldn't find it anywhere else except in the box, so I had to give it a go. I was unable to tell the difference between the two. I see no difference in the ingredients - just different packaging. Since there are so many chili spices added in, I think that you won't even notice the difference.

I like this product because I know I will be able to make a decent chili because I don't have to mix the spices myself and ruin them. Just add the spice package from the package I want to use, and add however much of the "hot" spice that I want, and done. I like the chili. For my chili mix, I always mix in a bunch of other ingredients, including finely chopped onions and bell peppers, chili beans, and whatever else is around. You can make a quick and filling meal in a short period of time, for instance, if you have unexpected guests. I've been using this brand for a long time, and I plan to continue to do so since it's good and easy to use. Do not tell your guests it's a mix allow them to add sour cream and shredded cheese if they desire. This will cause them to perceive you as a great chef. However, you'll probably have to keep that in mind when they drop by unexpectedly more often.

I've been a Carroll Shelby, Cobra and chili fan for as long as I've been able to remember and I really wanted to like this. It's too bad I couldn't do it. It was terrible, to be honest. Among the worst chili I have ever had in my 50 years on this planet, this one rates among the bottom five. This flavor was mainly salty with a cumin taste to it There is a faint flavor of chili in the mustiness. Despite Shel's original chili recipe being good - great actually- this is simply ordinary, and I believe it was uninspired and insipid. It was a terrible mistake for whatever company took over the brand, both because this is garbage and I'm sore to say it. I recommend that you avoid it if possible.
A mixture of onion, green or jalapeno peppers, and diced tomatoes with a flavored sauce. My favorite way to cook it is early in the morning and then letting it simmer all day in a crock pot on low, ready whenever I need to eat. You should also add red kidney beans to the dish!.
While I usually don't have time to grind my own fresh herbs and spices, I needed to prepare a pot of chili for the Middle School swim team yesterday because my brilliant grandson forgot to tell me they would be coming over on Saturday after practice. How does that happen? I'll tell you what to do defrost the lamb, chop the secret ingredients I use, brown the lamb, and add everything as instructed. Put a lid on it and simmer for 3-4 hours. Why do I bring this up? It is possible to add or remove anything from the pot you do not want. Packs of stuff (which are annoying) that are convenient. will even go so far as to say that my grandson could make this chili and be brilliant at it. As long as he remembers to make corn bread too he'll forget about the phone (if he puts it down).

In my opinion, if it had been for me, I would've used the entire packet of pepper, but my family doesn't like spice like me, so I used just Providing directions are followed, the flavor is wonderful and the salt can be added to taste after simmering. The meat did need a bit of salt, even though I'm not a salt person. I will continue to keep this on hand as a staple in my pantry.
I can make it as mild or spicy as I want by adding or leaving out the separate Cayenne pepper. When I was growing up, I could buy it locally, but I am glad to see that it is still available from Amazon!.
