Since we have a lot of rice, after about 2 bags of being frustrated and unhappy with this rice, I would add less water and it still seemed sticky and mushy almost. Then one night, I must have left my blondness somewhere because right on the bag it says in rice cooker use equal parts OMG I'm seriously just dumbfounded I never attempted to check the bag. I was so used to other brands' recommendations that I went with what my rice cooker recommended. ANYWAY, EQUAL PARTS rice and water makes amazing rice. I doubt this will help anyone, but it truly is good rice, and knowing it's gluten free and organic means less toxins is always a good thing, which is why I tried it.
I wasted a perfectly good box of organic stock on this because every package is infested with tiny little black bugs. Returning the rice and bugs, as well as a zero-star rating because one star is far too high for this buggy rice.
We bought it in December when we were running low on supplies. I discover that each of these bags was infested with disgusting black beetles a week after it was too late to return them. This was perplexing because I've always had good luck with Lundberg.
br>Since October 15, 2016, we've purchased 24 dozen packages from Amazon with no contamination issues.
When I ran out of Lundberg, I reordered; the rice was better than I'd had before, but it was the closures that won me over. They didn't have loops, which led me to believe they were Velcro hook and loop. The name of it is Press- lok. In a press release from 2012, Velcro stated that Lundberg was the company's only Press-certified expert. Look at the client. br>br>I like to weigh out how much rice I want to cook and then pour it into a pan on a scale. I used to get too much in traditional bags. Press- lok is stiff enough to form the bag's edge into a nice spout while also providing enough friction for precise control of the flow. I don't need a clip to close the bag after I'm finished. br>br>Like paper grocery bags, the bags have a flat bottom. I put a bag on the refrigerator after resealing it. It's practical, and even a well-trained mouse wouldn't be able to reach it. I can easily see it because it stands upright, and I know it won't spill any grains.
My personal favorite is the Jasmine (purple bag), but we also purchase the Basmati (red bag) and Long Grain (green bag). br>br>The rice is delicious. There are no pieces that have been broken. No mold. There were no pebbles on the ground. No chaff. It comes out perfectly when you use the 3: 2 induction cooktops and 1 induction cooktop 1 cup of water in a pressure cooker: rations of rice br>br>How fragrant are the jasmine and basmati? It's simply lovely. The only thing I don't like about it is the packaging. br>br>We buy it by the case because it's so much cheaper than supermarket prices. br>br>The only thing I don't like about it is the packaging. It has a reusable seal that looks like velcro. This may appear to be a lovely idea, but the way the opening works makes getting the rice out difficult. That is my only complaint about this rice; everything else about it is fantastic! br>br>STRONGLY RECOMMENDED, but with a caveat. br>br>If this review was helpful in deciding whether or not to buy: Tap the helpful button if you want to be extra helpful. I've read a few reviews that describe this rice as porridge-like, sticky, mushy, and so on, and this is exactly what Short Grain Brown (sticky) Rice is supposed to be like. If you're looking for a simple dinner, prepare your steak and vegetables first. That's not the case. This grain is used in recipes that call for sticky rice, such as stews and dishes made with rice and beans. lentils. br>br>I use this rice for a traditional Pathan dish with pulled beef and Mung beans, and it turns out perfectly, just as it did in Peshawar.
This is not something I would order again.
