The dried black beans that I am using are Eden brand This is a very high quality item. It has been quite a while since I have used this kind of dried beans. The beans that are dried in them are very clean. It is likely you will find more dirt and rocks in dried beans bought in bulk at a natural foods store than in these bags. While I am not concerned about how many clods are in the dried product, one of the other reviewers seemed horrified by the fact that they were present. It is always the case that some dried beans have more than others when it comes to quantity. A VERY LIMITED amount is in these. Nonetheless, you must rinse dried beans TWICE in two changes of water after you have picked them up.
It is nice to receive these beans of such high quality. There is very little dust on them. It used to be easy to pick out glass pieces, sticks, and rocks from Goya beans in my supermarket, but I got tired of checking. Always worried that I would miss something and break my tooth, I was never sure what I would do. Comparatively, when I open up the package of green beans in this package, it seems that someone took time to sort the beans and provide me with only the very best. The beans are large and plump, and their texture is tender and creamy.
There is something about beans that my family likes. As well as organic beans, we like them. For this reason, we believe that avoiding GMO is important. Both the evil giant seed companies and the potential health problems we haven't yet discovered are the reasons for being against GMOs.
