Questions & Answers
It is not necessary to cook Steens syrup. It can be used in baking, but it's also fine to pour over pancakes, waffles, or anything else that would normally be served with syrup.
There is no indication on the labeling whether the syrup is organic or not. GMO. Nothing is added, nothing is extracted, and no preservatives are used, according to the company. It has a strong taste, but it's not as strong as molasses. For over 60 years, I've used this syrup on my pancakes, and I'll keep doing so.

My previous review expressed my love for this southern product; however, I do not feel the same way about the vendor because I paid a price I would not have paid on the shelf if I had known the product was 6 years past its best by date. Under the circumstances, I'm not sure I'd have bought it. You'd think that since it came directly from the syrup maker, I'd get a FRESHER item. When I was putting together gift baskets for my sons, I noticed that all four of my bottles were 6 years past their expiration date. br>br>As a result, I wasn't able to use them in my Christmas gift baskets! I'm not sure how long syrup lasts. But, if it can't, why are they dating it?.
Steen's syrup is, in my opinion, the best syrup ever made. It is the ONLY cane" syrup that is truly 100% cane syrup that is truly 100% cane syrup that is truly 100% cane syrup that is truly 100% cane sy At least, that's what I've found in my research. Others with "Cane" in the name are only partially truly 100% cane syrup on checking ingredients ("Cane Patch" brand comes to mind but it is not 100% cane syr I can't find Steen's in glass bottles in my area- only available in cans - As a result, it is necessary to place an order. Unless transferred to a glass bottle (which is far too difficult), it develops a "can" taste in cans. It's incredibly simple to order in glass bottles from Amazon (or even directly from the Louisiana manufacturer). This order arrived perfectly and safely packed, surrounded by styrofoam.
This product first caught my attention when it was served on Chicken and Waffles at a nearby restaurant (Chicken and the Egg). It was fantastic, in my opinion. The flavor is fantastic. Because it's thicker than regular syrup, it's ideal for savory dishes that require a sweet component. Oh, and it's also delicious on pancakes and waffles.
When it comes to cane syrup, I prefer Steen's. Emeril's ham recipe with pears and apples calls for this brand, and it's delicious. Because there are no stores in my area that sell it, I've had to rely on Lyles cane syrup from Wegmans, which works just fine. I prefer and like to keep Steens on hand, and I can get it in 16-ounce jars on Amazon.
We're from Louisiana, and Steen's provides a true taste of home. We mostly use it for pancakes and waffles, and I keep a supply in the pantry at all times. To avoid breakage, the syrup was tightly packed.
This is now my all-time favorite pancake syrup. I adore the rich flavor, which isn't quite as strong as molasses but far more interesting than the artificially-produced artificially-flavored molasses. today's pancake topping, which is flavored corn syrup. It also has the perfect syrup consistency, not stringy or pudgy like some other well-known syrups. On the shelves of grocery stores, you'll find well-known syrups. br>br>Unfortunately, it's difficult to obtain if you don't live in Louisiana; however, Amazon has made it possible to obtain, albeit at a high cost.
Unfortunately, no grocery stores in our area carry it, so we have to order it.
I was raised on ot and can't imagine life without it. Some people dislike it, particularly those who were introduced to it later in life.
