I love cooking with it, so I was excited to get my hands on this product. It was the consistency of the honey that first caught my attention. Mike's Hot Honey was thinner and more watery than what I've had in the past, but I thought that the shipping process could be responsible for this. I immediately noticed that the label on the bottle was slanted when I looked closer at it. There is an uneven line at the junction of the labels at the ends of the image. It was obvious the product was not authentic from this point of view Usually, I never encounter sloppy looking labels that appear to have been placed by hand. It was obvious that the safety seal wasn't fully secured after having taken off the cap There was a slight lift in one of the tabs. Even though it was still firmly attached to its lid, the fact that it was partially lifted set me off. Finally, the product has a different lid than Mike's Hot Honeys you can buy at Here is an image I found online of what the bottle should look like. Out of complete caution, I didn't cook with it, but it likely was okay. I will likely be returning mine since it's not the authentic Mike's hot honey.
