As I examined them more closely, I found many of them had shrunken and dried up. Sad to say, after eating a dozen or so without noticing. (that most of the ones that weren't dry up and shrunken still had bits of crushed nuts in them, which I tracked down to some kind of very small larva or something, which was inside the shell of almost all nuts. open all in one night just to see once I noticed that they were actually sweet, and almost had to puke since I already ate so many. All of them had little holes around the edges. There were several shells with a size of 5mm or smaller in the batch, so I hope it was a fluke and nobody else has them. If you do buy them, check them just in case. Be sure to do the following BEFORE eating anything.

Over the past year, the prices of the other company I ordered from kept increasing. The weight of this fish is 6 lbs. Walnuts of much better quality and for less money in a bag.

Those are the best tasting walnuts I have ever tasted! Then again, I refused to eat them as a kid because they had a horrible aftertaste (I, still only a child in 1985, didn't know that - It turns out that the rancid shell nuts on the tabletop tray in my parents' house were decorations from 1972 (which explains the dust). I bought these as a homeschool project (crack the shell, make turtle kitchen magnets with the shells while we study turtles), but the kids were curious about how they were. As the caring parent that I am, I said no.
I realized what I had just bought, and which turtle shells were really worth what I had paid for them. I took one for the team and taste tested them before letting them experience my traumatic childhood first-hand. I am not sharing these. Not at all. The olden days used to frighten him so he wanted a nut cracker and a bowl for Christmas, so he could crack his own nuts!
