I have been enamored of sunflower seeds my entire life and can attest that these are among the very best. The sunflower seeds that I used to have with my Frito Lay are so salty and increasingly difficult to find here in New England. I noticed that Chinook Seeds were available at some grocery co-ops last weekend. My first op was in Bozeman, MT, and it was a revelation for me. My box of these arrives every month now. A sandpaper tongue is not present in these seeds. They have a great flavor and come in a resealable pouch, which helps keep the seeds fresh and prevents spillage when my newborn inevitably runs over the bag.
