They haven't been pasteurized, so don't expect them to be. They are heated in the shell with water to remove the urushiol "cashew oil," allowing the workers to safely crack the cashew nuts by hand, as urushiol is a skin irritant. The USDA does not require the pasteurization of cashews, unlike almonds.
It's not even close to being fair. If they're from Vietnam or India, there's a good chance they were made using slave labor and children who were forced to work in deplorable conditions. Cashews from Vietnam, in particular, should be considered "slave trade" rather than "fair trade" until the system is reformated. If you look up "Blood Cashews" on the internet, you'll find out the truth. http://www.br>br>br>br>br>br>b //www. over inside com/society/the-society/the-society/the-societ cashew- nut- cruelty- that- no-one- tells- you- about. html

Of the brands I've tried, this is probably the most recent. Purchased on 3/2017, with an expiration date of 12/2017. The nuts are much smaller than the organic cashews I've bought previously. About 30% of these nuts are in pieces and not whole, I'd estimate. Perhaps they disintegrated in transit, but I've bought bags (of various brands) that didn't have a single broken nut in them. The texture is smooth and normal, but it is drier than other brands. Strangely, they appear to be drier than Anna's. I currently have the Sarah ones, and the Anna ones are on their way. Sarah was a nut.
These cashews are to die for. The flavor is light and slightly sweet. I prefer to eat them raw, despite the fact that they are not truly raw. Inside the shell layer, there's a toxic resin. The resin will get on the cashew nut if the shell is not properly opened, rendering it inedible. Only one nut producer in Indonesia uses a special technique with specially-designed shells to steam open the shells at a high temperature, cooking the cashew nut inside. designed tools to open the shell cleanly and without ever exposing the cashew nut to the resin (without using any heat at all). Raw cashews are sweeter, tastier, and more nutritious than cooked cashews, but they are also more expensive. So these are labeled raw, but I'm sure they've been steamed, but they're not toasted, and they taste better than most other raw ones I've ever bought in stores. br>br>Anyway, great for snacking or making raw sour cream, as well as a variety of other raw foods and baked goods.
I just bought these cashews and didn't realize they were from Vietnam or the Ivory Coast, so I soaked a cup to make cashew milk, and after about an hour, I had cashew milk. The water has turned black after 5 hours. I've been making my own cashew milk for about two years, and I've never seen the water look like this before.
I received an order that smelled like rancid fish and was chewy. Before I realized what I'd done, I'd made a batch of cashew cheese, which ruined my lasagna recipes. Because I'm a vegan who can't eat fish, I don't want my dishes to taste like that. I squandered too much money on some stale cashews. br>br>Until they fix the problem, this product should not be sold! I've been purchasing cashews for quite some time, and this is the first time I've encountered this problem.
He's a retired old man who enjoys that particular snack. He frequently purchases Whole Foods-branded items. brand bags, which he adores. br>br>So I Googled "best cashews" and this came in first on every list I looked at, so I bought some for him to stuff in his Christmas stocking. They were a hit with him, and he said they tasted "much fresher" than the cashews he usually buys from Whole Foods. br>br>Ordering cashews online, on the other hand, comes at a much higher cost. These nuts are TWICE the price of the nuts at Whole Foods. So, while I'm glad I got these for my father as a Christmas present, neither I nor he will be purchasing them on a regular basis.
Outstanding product! During my search for better nutrition and new ways to update old recipes, I discovered that cashews are superfoods. I was overjoyed because they were treats when I was a kid, but as with many other food products, the quality and safety were questioned later in life. Were they grown in a way that was both environmentally friendly and socially responsible? Were they genetically modified (this is something I look into with all foods)? Terrasould grows and harvests in a sustainable manner and donates money to [. ] and it's a raw, healthy product. There are so many things you can do with these nuts, but one of my favorites is to make thick and tasty whipped cream that tastes just like the dairy version. Pie crusts, pie fillings, milk, and flour are all needed to make a pie. This product can be used to make any of our favorite dishes, and eating them raw and unsalted is just as indulgent as before.

They are always tasty and fresh. To keep them fresh, they are packaged in a resealable bag. There are usually only a few broken pieces when they arrive. Because I'm allergic to peanuts, I appreciate that these aren't contaminated with peanut pieces or residue, as many of the major conventional brands are. These are also organic, so I feel comfortable serving them to my elderly parents and young nieces and nephews when they visit. Processing chemicals and pesticides aggravate a number of allergies I suffer from. The price is also one of the best for organic cashews I've seen, and they're delivered right to my door.
