The almonds have been ground into a fine powder along with some sugar and salt In it, there is syrup. Basically, the liquid is what holds it together so that it is soft (solid). The product comes in silver plastic packaging. If I were to use it for coffee, I would not bake cookies with it. I think you would end up with undissolved granules in your cup, even though I don't know what it would do.
Wheat starch is present in this product. The same thing happened for my mom-but she is just intolerant. I used it for cookies and all other gluten-free ingredients and she was not bothered by them.

If I want to make my rainbow cookies, I only use this brand of almond paste. Usually, I only make these at Christmas, and I used a very different brand last year in an attempt to find a softer almond paste, but it did not work. Several of them had an off taste, so I threw many of them away! It was great to be able to get 3 for a package!.
It was so nice to have these to make danish and cookies using immediately.
Rolled out dough, rolled paste, then placed in middle, coiled like a snake, baked and was amazed the light, fragrant flavor. Other brands can't compare.
The product is good and it gets to me quickly. I got the three-pack for a decent price ($21) whereas I can get the same thing in the store for $4. I have never tried another brand of almond paste. The Target price is 99 cents per box, but the cost at Walmart is five dollars. They are available at Whole Foods for 99 cents apiece. A purchase of three for $21 is not out of the question for me. You can order this item in the mail if you use this ingredient in your baking and you prefer to have it sent to you. It would like to be a winter type of product, so I worry about how well it will survive the summer.
In a cake I make with an almond paste, I use the entire 7 ounces. I have tried other brands and this is the only almond paste I use. I tried Jacques Torres almond paste recipe. It turned out to be ok, but this is superior.
There was an old batch of almond paste here. There was no way to break it up no matter how much I tried. My last purchase was from the grocery store and i was happy with it. If you buy it, check it out and send back if it is out of date.
I am glad I can buy so many boxes of almond paste at a good price. I use it for baking a lot. A fantastic almond torte can be made with this recipe. My baked goods have always tasted great when using this product. The product has always been fresh and moist. A great product. I highly recommend it.
