What would be the best way to serve it on an ice cream cake from Carvel?

Whenever possible, the surface must be completely smooth (sprinkles or anything of the like not allowed) and the background must be entirely white. The cookie cake we ordered from our local grocery store was made with white frosting and it turned out wonderful. Moreover, I do not think there would be enough room on top of a Carvel cake. The screen print on our cookie cake was about 10 inches across, but I don't recall in what size it was. Although there was plenty of room around the design, I think you would need a round surface that is at least 8 inches in diameter. This might be of some help.

When you want a border around the top of the cake, or you want to add a topper on top of the border, I suggest getting a half sheet cake. As a result I ended up with the quarter sheet laying over the border the bakery had put on my cake.
