Questions & Answers

Is it stated on the package that these raisins are unsulphered, or are there any other ingredients?

Sulfphites (Sulphur Dioxide) are only used in light-colored dried fruits like golden raisins, according to Sun Maid's website. They claim that any of their products containing sulphites will be labeled with a warning. I believe that sulphites are uncommon in most dark raisins, as sulphites in dried fruit are primarily used to prevent the fruits from turning dark. It shouldn't be present if it isn't listed in the ingredients.

Aside from grapes, are there any other additives? Oils and sulfur, for example. ?

If it says "Organic," it means it hasn't been tampered with with additives, chemicals, or "Anything at all." These raisins are sweet and juicy, and they have a great flavor. Recommendation: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Why am I purchasing raisins grown in California and having them shipped from Thailand?

I'm based in Ohio and ship internationally.

Seller: What should a customer expect the expiration date of this product to be if they order them today, 5/29/20?

We placed an order for raisins on May 8, 2020, and they arrived on May 13, 2020. The package's best before date is March 10, 21.

There was a lot of grit and dirt/stones
3/5

These raisins looked delicious, but I wouldn't buy them again because they were contaminated with grit and small stones, making eating them unpleasant. Having a sudden CRUNCH as my teeth hit tiny pieces of grit was both unpleasant and dangerous to my teeth, so I usually added them to my oatmeal in the morning. It's inexcusable to have to wash a bag of raisins to ensure that all of the grit is removed. There was a lot of it; it didn't happen just once or twice, and my son asked me to stop adding the raisins after a while because he was having the same issue.

Having some fruit is preferable to having none during a pandemic
5/5

Grapes are one of the Dirty Dozen, a group of fruits that should be purchased organically instead of conventionally. It doesn't matter with some things, such as bananas, because they have a thick natural skin that protects against insecticides leaching into the eaten part, and because some spraying conventions are more relaxed in other countries, so even if it isn't certified organic, it may still be technically organic under our standards. Anyway, I lived near the grape vineyards in northern California and saw both the organic and inorganic sides of the road, where the wind literally carried the wind of planes. What difference does it make if insecticides are dropped from above on a windy day, or if they are dropped from the conventional side of the road to the organic side of the road? However, I've noticed that eating regular grapes gives me a headache, so there must be a difference. Only organic foods are purchased by me. These raisins are delicious because they are made from organic ingredients. When you add them to a curry, they plump up and add natural sweetness. Oatmeal, overnight oats, and chia pudding are just a few of the options. They're also a great addition if you're trying to cut back on sugar. Because we don't always have fresh fruit during the pandemic, I've added these to my subscribe and save list. Especially in northern New England's tundra winter, this is often the only fruit available; on other days, we stock up and the local stores have a decent selection. However, on those bitterly cold winter days, delicious, inexpensive, healthy, fiber-rich raisins from sunny California are a welcome treat. They take up less room than canned goods and don't need to be stored in the freezer. It's not only a good supplement these days, but it's also a good survival food. The bag was re-used once more. It has a good seal.

They're among the best if they're truly organic, and I'm doing the plant-based Vegan thing for athletic reasons
5/5

These are the natural sweeteners that I use. br>I was hesitant to buy them from a large corporation like Sunmaid because I was concerned that they might have a dishonest management team selling regular raisins as organic in order to make more money by labeling GMO pesticide-soaked products organic. So that was my own unfounded apprehension. However, businesses have been caught lying about what is organic in order to make a profit on multiple occasions. br>I have to say that IF they are truly organic, IF their management has a conscience, and IF they can honestly distinguish their organic raisins from the rest, then these are among the best raisins available. I occasionally wonder, but I wonder about this issue in any company with two lines, one organic and the other not. br>I'm hoping they're real, because if they are, they're among the best, so five stars.

Perfume of a Church Lady Stings All Over Them! Because all three boxes I ordered were smelling like cheap church lady perfume, I'm giving this product a low overall rating
3/5

It had such a strong odor that it made me gag. br>br>The Amazon shipping box didn't smell like perfume on the outside, but the unmistakable odor of it on all three boxes of raisins was overwhelming as soon as I opened it. br>br>I took the plastic bags of raisins out of the boxes, disinfected them, and tossed the stinky boxes outside to keep the bears away.

Yes, there are quite a few raisins in this batch
5/5

I threw out the box and stacked the two 2-liter bottles in its place. Place the pound bags in the fridge. I expect them to last a long time, or I'll be eating a lot more raisins than I have in the past. br>br>I was planning on dividing the large bags into smaller ziplock bags, but that isn't necessary. Because the bags are resealable, even when you reach the end of the bag, you can squeeze out the air and reseal it to keep the last few raisins fresh. br>br>As a kid, I was not a big fan of raisins. But now, chocolate and cashews are my other options, and I think including raisins in the mix is a good idea, and my palate has matured enough for me to enjoy them. Potassium is in abundance in them. And, I believe, a smidgeon of iron. br>br>As with any dried fruit, there's a lot of sugar, so put some in a small snack bowl so you don't overeat.

Bad ones
3/5

This is the 18th time I've purchased the 4 pound size because they are the most juicy, tender, and delicious I've ever tasted. For the past two or three years, raisins have been acceptable bad. raisins that are teeny tiny, dried out, and have a bad sugary taste. I tried to make due with what I had. However, every time I ate them, I got a stomach ache. If you are unable to return them, it should be stated on the page where you make your purchase. This is the second time I've received a particularly dreadful batch. Would never buy them again after the last few months. What a letdown! br>.

The flavor is pleasant, but
3/5

The raisins are delicious, exactly as they should be. The texture, on the other hand, was a letdown for me. Inside the box, they're kept in plastic bags. A plastic bag was also used to ship the box. You'd think that keeping them moist would be a given. The raisins, on the other hand, are extremely dry and "shriveled. " "Leave them in liquid for a while if you want them plump; I use them in plain yogurt and have grown accustomed to "chewy" raisins. " They taste fine, but the consistency is disappointing, as I previously stated. I believe they should be better than this for the price.

I am extremely happy
4/5

I make my own granola and use raisins on a regular basis, always on the lookout for "on sale" raisins. " Last year, I joined Prime and discovered that I could get ingredients like oatmeal, nuts, and raisins for less money and have them delivered (I live in NYC and have to carry my groceries a few blocks). ) These Sun Maid Raisins were fantastic, just like the ones I've always bought in the store; they were moist and delicious, and the 4. 5 lb. The bag was used for a period of ten months.
