It's much easier to open a tube of tomato paste than to buy a can, use a tablespoon, and throw the rest away; the resealable tubes allow you to keep the freshness in the fridge and use when needed. Make a simple homemade spaghetti sauce by combining oil, butter, garlic, tomato paste, and pasta water. There's no need for those supermarket sauce jars!.
I use a rolling tube toothpaste squeezer to extract the last bit of paste. The tube is far more convenient than the can. It's also less messy.
This is fantastic to use in the kitchen. I only use a small amount of tomato paste in my cooking, and I despise having to open a can just to get a few T's. The tube that I brought back from Europe is the ideal solution. Giving it to my cooking friends is also a lot of fun. They, like me, are discovering how much flavor you can get from a small amount of something. To make tomato sauces more flavorful, mix in a little tequila.
I'm not sure why it took so long, but this stuff is fantastic in terms of taste and convenience. I never used the entire paste can - I've always thrown away the majority of my possessions. When not in use, this can be easily stored in the refrigerator. I find that I use paste more frequently now that it is more readily available, and my recipes have improved as a result. This sauce has a strong tomato flavor, is thick, and has a lot of depth to it. Even though I rarely use paste in recipes (etouffee), I find myself doing so for the sake of convenience.
Cento is my favorite tomato brand, and the tube is the most practical packaging. Squeeze out a tablespoon or three at a time to flavor a dish, then replace the top and keep it in the fridge until you're ready to use it again. It's brilliant! There'll be no more half-dried clothes. I had a few cans of tomato paste in the fridge that I hadn't used yet! Cento tomato paste has a rich, delicious flavor.
I have to admit, I was skeptical that it could be any better, after all, it's just tomatoes, but the difference is in the taste, and it's noticeable. The pure tomato flavor bursts forth, sweet and mildly acidic. I used to buy Contadina paste, which is good, but this is even better. I like working with the tube because it makes storing leftover product simple: simply screw on the lid, close it, and place it in the refrigerator. Yes, I will tell others about this product and I will buy it again.
I like that it comes in a tube because I can use only what I need and store the rest in the fridge for later use — no waste! I would buy it again.
All Cento products are of excellent quality and offer excellent value. In this case, being able to use exactly the right amount of product for a recipe is extremely convenient because many recipes call for one, two, or three tablespoons of tomato paste, but if you have to open a can of tomato paste, you must either freeze what's left or throw it away. br>This product should be handled with extreme caution before opening. I recently bought the item and noticed that one of the tubes had split open due to the package being squashed, most likely during shipping. I noticed a small oily patch on the corner of the box where the tube had leaked through when I examined it more closely. Attempting to return the package would have been more work than it was worth, given the low value. I'd place another order, but this time I'd inspect the packaging before opening it.
