It is a very good sauce, especially since it does not contain high fructose syrup, which I dislike. However, when it was added to the cooked ground beef, it lacked the flavor I desired It did a world of good. I chopped a large green bell pepper and added it to the mixture and it made a significant difference in the taste. Unfortunately, this sauce is practically impossible to find in grocers and while I know shipping is expensive, this is incredibly expensive.
We no longer had this product stocked at the one super market in our area that did carry it, and after trying it before it was unavailable, I came to find that the ingredients in this product were very tasty. It's a lot better than I looked it up here, found it on the web. I received it within 3 days of ordering. For your information The ratio of half a can to a pound of ground beef, turkey, or chicken depends on how sloppy you want the sandwich to be. I think this is good.
There is no better brand than Dei Fratelli! There has never been anything they've made that I didn't enjoy. They would have made me think they picked my tomatoes out of my garden, if I did not know better. You can just taste the freshness in it. If you try this sauce, you will never go back to the store to purchase any other Sloppy Joe Sauce again.
There are a lot of great reviews for this sauce, but I understand why. I don't like it that much. There's nothing particularly special or exciting about it, kind of like the way the Manwich sauce tastes. The price I paid was way too high, Six cans for $6 is almost six dollars. A can costs $0. 00.
I overpowered the taste of bell peppers with an overwhelming aftertaste that didn't go away for hours, and my children wouldn't eat it. My husband and I searched for mints to mask the aftertaste. If you love peppers, this is for you. That's not our cup of tea.
Before I moved, I bought this at my local grocery store, but no longer do they sell it in my new location. Whenever I order sloppy joe sauce it is the best sauce I have ever tasted, so having it available on Amazon means a great deal to me. It makes me extra happy as I try to avoid products that contain high fructose corn syrup, and this sauce is sweet, so it's even better.
There are many other brands we have tried. This one worked best for us. Even though I was able to order a smaller number of cans, we are going to use them.
Despite being a bit bland, the sauce tastes good it has a light flavor and is not spicy.
