Questions & Answers

Did you make any changes to the recipe? It now tastes awful and is chewy, which it wasn't before. I'm disappointed because it used to be one of my favorites. ?

They did change it, as you say. All I can think of is that the ingredients are in short supply. For years, I've purchased the chicken flavor, and in the last five months or so, I've purchased: br>1) They got rid of the seasoning pack (which I think was a good idea). br>2) After that, they switched to a rice pilaf mixture, and the dried parsley vanished. The seasoning became blander, and the color transitioned from bright yellow to dark orange. br>3) The dried parsley and rice mixture then returned to its original state, though the color remained dark orange. It also smells like someone decided to cook rotting fish in a rusted pan when you microwave it. And the flavor is eerily similar to that. br>br>Again, this is for the Chicken flavor, but I've heard a lot of complaints about the other flavors as well. The small amount of canola oil in these, I believe, is the culprit. Some is emitted by canola oil. When it goes rancid, it emits an "exotic" odor, which could explain why it has such a short shelf life.br>br>For what it's worth, I tried samples from Amazon and several local grocery stores, so it wasn't just one bad batch. I'm hoping they can resolve it quickly.

Is this a twelve-pack of individual cups or a twelve-pack of twelve-packs-of-individual-cups?

It's a 12-minute ride. Individual cups come in a pack of four. In total, there are 12 cups. I'm not sure why the cost has increased to $143. I didn't have to pay much more than $18. Make contact with the seller if possible.

Are these elbow noodles or flat noodles in the macaroni style?

Rice is what it is. Rice is a good example of this. RICE a roni is what it's all about. PASTA roni with spiral noodles is what you're looking for.

Is there anything you can do to keep it from getting out of hand? flowing? Regardless of what I do, half of the rice/water always boils over.?

Try 3mins 15secs at 80% power for 1100w microwave and starting with hot water up to the fill line. I tried 2070% but it leaved too much water, and 90% or full power always boils over.

Expiration dates that are far too close together
3/5

These items must have a long shelf life, so I was taken aback when I checked the expiration date and discovered that they had expired just two weeks after being delivered. These items had to have been sitting in the warehouse for quite some time.

This isn't something you should buy
3/5

I only got one or two of these to cook properly in the microwave; one of them caught fire inside my microwave, and I had to go out and buy a new microwave because the odor wouldn't go away. I assumed it was a problem with my old microwave, but when I tried to make another two in my new one, the same thing happened (with the exception that we caught it early enough to avoid a fire). This product is not to be recommended.

Lunch at the office is always a hit
5/5

For over a year, I've been eating these for lunch at work every day. Many of you will be horrified at the prospect of eating the same thing for lunch every weekday for the next six months, but I haven't grown tired of them yet. To be honest, this is the first and only time I've ever done something like that with food. They have a rich flavor that fulfills the desire for "real food. " They are extremely practical. They do require three. Cooking time is 5 minutes plus several minutes for the sauce to reduce. br>I'd like to point out that, despite sharing the same name and brand as the precooked pouch that only needs to be heated, they don't taste anything like it. I'm not a fan of pouches. br>The portion size is just right; at first, I thought they'd be a side dish. I consider myself to be a "well-rounded" individual. It's almost always enough to keep me satisfied as a "well-nourished" person.

It's practical
4/5

Rice-A-Roni has always been a favorite of mine. But, Roni, this was my first time buying the single microwaveable ones. They're not bad at all. Definitely not on par with the box you cook in a pan. It's a little bland, but it's simple to make. All you have to do is add water, stir, and cook for 3 1/2 minutes in the microwave. (Be aware that it may overflow while cooking. ) )br>The sodium content is the one major drawback I want to bring up. It's quite high and a little too salty for my tastes, but I liked it enough to order again.

There are some things that could be better
3/5

I usually enjoy these, but there has always been a problem with these cups, and they have recently made changes that have made them even worse. Taste: They used to be pretty good, but now they're just ok, and here's why: the seasoning has changed; it used to be in a packet, but now it's premixed into the rice, which is fine in theory, but. When cooking these cups, I recommend putting a bowl or plate under it (even though it defeats the purpose of buying them in "to go" cups), but they always boil over, and I've tried lowering the water amount, using a plastic lid, cooking in intervals, and it still overflows, and now that the seasoning is mixed in the rice, it boils out as well, and the rice becomes bland because you have to wipe out not only water but also clean seasoning water.

What is there not to adore about this? It's a roni of rice! There isn't much to be unhappy about in this place
5/5

It arrives in excellent condition and at an extremely reasonable price. It's less expensive than going to a big store. I like getting the plain cheddar cheese one because I can spice it up and make it more interesting. To make it even more nutritious, add fresh vegetables and/or meats. Quick lunches and picky toddlers will appreciate this. The packaging is of excellent quality and is simple to dismantle once you've finished with it. You can even clean the bowls and reuse them for crafts or as paint containers. There's no way you can go wrong with a good ole box of rice a roni, especially in individual serving size so you don't have to go through the trouble of cooking it on the stove, uhh SOLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.

It's become "My" Cup of Rice, out of the many varieties of Rice a Roni Cups
5/5

It has a rich creamy cheesy taste that leaves my taste buds wanting more with each bite, and it has that perfect blend of texture and taste that put Rice a Roni on the map. So that I don't run out, I always buy them in 12-packs. My only gripe, which applies to all of their products, is the recent price hikes. Occasionally, the price will rise by 5 to 8 dollars. To avoid this, you'd think that their sellers would be subjected to some kind of quality control.

The product was not the same as the one I had previously ordered
3/5

This is something I've ordered a few times and it's always delicious and convenient for my work lunch. This order was not the same as the previous one. The rice had a rubbery texture to it, and the cheese flavor was barely discernible. I'll have to see if this came from the same seller, but I'm not ordering anything else from them. br>br>I'm very upset and disappointed because this was a regular part of my 5 day a week routine.
