Campbell's chicken gumbo was one of my favorite dishes. When they restocked in stores, the flavor was slightly different. Bear Creek Country Chicken Gumbo comes the closest to the original Campbell flavor that I've found. This package mix is usually enhanced by the addition of shredded chicken, which is delicious!

This is my husband's favorite mix because it is simple to make and has a lot of flavor. This recipe yields a massive pot! You can use whatever ingredients you want, or just use water. This is MUCH cheaper at Walmart than it is here, but it is a "seasonal" item. I'll order enough for my husband to last until next season the next time it's in stock. Even at this price, he's content with it.
You can also make a hero out of yourself in 20 minutes by using this Bear Creek mix and adding shrimp, crabmeat, and sausage. br>br>Chicken and sausage work well as well. br>br>It's everything you'd expect from gumbo, but with a lot less effort.
I like homemade gumbo soup; I've tried a lot of other brands and don't care for them. Some lack flavor, while others are overly salty, but this one is perfect, and the best part is that I can eat it plain or add whatever I want, such as shrimp or sausage (or both!). I started ordering it from Amazon because my local grocery store stopped carrying it for some bizarre reason, and I didn't want to drive out of town to get it.
I've experimented with a variety of gumbo base mixes and have never been completely satisfied with the results, even when using ingredients I'd seen in GOOD gumbo. The gumbo from Bear Creek Country Kitchens is delicious and filling, and it tastes like traditional gumbo. I did add shrimp, andouille sausage, frozen okra, and the ever-important "filet" to the gumbo. It was the closest I've ever come to homemade gumbo from a can. My husband and I have had a great time with it, and we hope to be able to purchase the brand in the future. I strongly advise gumbo fans to try it.
This gumbo mixture is fantastic! This and other Bear Creek soups have a homey flavor and are quick to prepare. br> You can personalize it by adding whatever you want. Chicken, browned kielbasa, extra okra, and shrimp at the end are some of my favorite additions. DELICIOUS with a splash of lime and some hot sauce.
I bought this a year ago and haven't been able to locate it since. Ordered over the holidays and discovered this winter in the grocery store. This soup is fantastic. Adding different ingredients to the soup gives it a lot of versatility. It makes a great lunch or dinner in a hurry.
This is an excellent product. Gumbo is one of my favorite dishes, especially when I add shrimp, sausage, and fish. It's a delicious, healthy meal that's also simple to put together. I wish the price was lower, but it's fantastic. I'm glad I found it; I had no idea it was available on Amazon. I used to be able to get it at the grocery store, but I can no longer locate it.
