Questions & Answers

What is the name of the country where you were born?

They are farm-fresh, as stated in the Amazon item description (and on their box). China is where I was raised.

What does freshness have to do with anything? Isn't it true that they're canned?

That is an excellent question! What is the difference between "fresh" and "spoiled?" "A "fresh" oyster to me is one that I have just shucked. They're canned in oil, so that's not a problem. They're fine in my opinion; they're decent and roughly what you'd expect from canned oysters in oil. I've eaten quite a few of these and have had no problems with the quality.

Toxins from China are filtered through this device
3/5

This item is made in China. Amazon, what are you doing? Oysters can be grown in a number of locations where the water is cleaner than in China. Not sure if they want to eat anything that comes from the heavily polluted waters off their coast.

It's possible that you'll get sunflower oil instead of cottonseed oil
3/5

Despite the fact that the item's name is " What I got was "in cottonseed oil," which was the cheapest, lowest-quality oil available. Sunflower oil is a type of vegetable oil that comes from sunflower flowers I'm allergic to sunflower oil, as are a lot of people. A lot of people aren't even aware of it. Because it is the cheapest oil, it has begun to appear in everything as a cost-cutting measure for businesses. You should also keep an eye out for sunflower oil if you have stomach cramps, intestinal pain, or frequent trips to the bathroom.

A small container of Geisha smoked oysters costs $17
3/5

It's way too expensive for mediocre smoked oysters - utterly revolting - Purchase this item at your own risk.

These are my husband's favorites, and finding this brand in the grocery store is becoming increasingly difficult. The product was delivered on time, and the expiration dates were excellent.

It's not bad, but it's not up to par with the competition
3/5

When compared to Geisha Fancy Smoked Oysters, Naturally Smoked Oysters in Pure Olive Oil have a better overall flavor profile.
