Questions & Answers
The only difference between these two Crown Prince offerings that I could find was that the "natural" version (tan can) claims to be "NON-GMO." GMO Project Verified" is not included on the red can (which is not labeled as "natural"). Is this to imply that the Crown Prince oysters in the red can are genetically modified? I'm not sure, but that's the next question I'd ask.
It's simple as that. Just look at the calories on the can on Amazon's alternative views: 55 calories for 1/3 of a cup.
I'm not sure why, but the more expensive ones have Organic Certification, which means they must pass the Organic Certifications, which raises the price significantly.
I had no idea, but in the future, I'll go to the USDA Food Data site, which has a list of nutrients. It's 90, according to my research. In a 100 gram serving of canned oysters, there are 93 milligrams of zinc. It is the most important source on the list.
Selected User Reviews For Crown Prince Smoked Oysters in Cottonseed Oil, 3.75 Ounce (Pack of 18)
The majority of the oysters in the 18-pack have been excellent, but there have been two cans that have had very dark brown oysters that have been disgusting, and I've had to discard them.
The oysters are all whole, with no chunks or pieces, and they smell and taste exactly like boiled oysters. Having said that, they're just boiled, so eating them straight from the can has its drawbacks unless you really, really like their flavor. I usually mix them with Worcestershire, horseradish, onion, capers, mayo, and a dash of chili sauce. It makes a delicious oyster salad that you can put in a pita or sandwich or eat on its own. It's an excellent way to get all of the nutrients oysters have to offer.
If you're into bodybuilding, this is a great deal at $40. They aren't particularly fresh, but you get what you pay for when it comes to protein-rich zinc, which is ideal for a pump or a night of romance. Because there's no rubbery freshness, there's less zinc for love making, but plenty of lean protean for your pump. If you're more pure-hearted and don't live near the coast, it can help you remember the taste of the sea. I hope this information is useful; however, you should read all of the reviews because your mileage may differ.
Switch to a different brand and then return. They are outstanding. I'll buy a small frozen cheese pizza, top it with these nuggets, drizzle a little oil over the top, and pile more cheese on top. Oyster Pizza with Smoked Tobacco. I'm bad !.
Crown Prince has a distinct personality when compared to other Chinese brands I've tried. The top lid is BPA-free, it's reasonably priced, and the water in the can appears to be clearer and cleaner. When you mail in UPC barcodes, Crown Prince offers a frequent buyer program in which you can get unlimited 50 cent coupons. That is a no-no!.
I've loved smoked oysters since I was a kid, despite the fact that they're a bit of an acquired taste. br>These have a better flavor than most brands because they don't have the strong, pungent aftertaste that some others do. I have a hard time finishing a can of certain brands. These, however, are not among them. This brand isn't the cheapest, but it's well worth it if the price difference is small. br>Having said that, I devoured an entire case by myself in record time.
Because the pull tabs on the cans break about half of the time, you'll need to open them with a can opener. China provided the oysters for this dish. Crown Prince has a unique smoked oyster packaging with a green and black cover; the oysters were imported from Korea and stored in olive oil. They seemed to have a better flavor to me.
I ordered a case of 12 cans, but seven of them were dented. I had to throw out one because it was so badly dented; I'm not sure if the others are safe to eat. The box in which they arrived, which also contained a few other items, was damaged, but the other items were in good condition. I'm not willing to risk placing another order. Where is the quality control on this issue of food safety?.
