"Wild caught" is written on each box. Herring is a wild fish, not a farmed one.
It was harvested in South Korea, according to the description.
I only bought the 9-pack of 3-ounce bottles.
On the back of the box it says Iron 35 . The current DVs are calculated using a 2000 calorie diet. The serving size for the can is one. I hope this has been of assistance. They taste great.
Selected User Reviews For Crown Prince Natural Smoked Oysters in Pure Olive Oil, 3-Ounce (Pack of 9)
They were awful, just like every other brand I've tried. I went to Amazon to see if there were any good brands and found this one, which had excellent reviews, but I didn't buy it because I wanted to try it before buying it online, especially since there were nine of them. They were $1 at my neighborhood supermarket. I paid $75 more for these than the ones in the red box, but they were so much better. br>br>They're a little bigger, about 50 pounds. 75% larger than normal normal normal normal br>br>They aren't grainy, whereas the red box ones, as well as every other brand I've tried, are. br>br>They are not green in color. All other brands, including the Crown in the red box, have a slight green tint to them, which is probably quite frightening. These aren't rubbery in the least. These have a significantly better texture. Taste is significantly improved. br>br> I'm not sure if it's because they're packed in olive oil instead of linseed oil, or if it's because of the higher quality. br>br>I noticed that all other brands, including the Crown Oysters in the red box, are from China, whereas these are from Korea, as other reviews have stated, and I'm going to avoid anything from China from now on because of these Oysters. When I was a kid, all Smoked Oysters in a Can tasted like this, and I loved them just as much as I do now. I know that oysters are 100% not safe to eat but if you want to eat them these are the ones to get. I did the Amazon subscription thing on these for the first time, but they're the same price as the Crown Prince red box ones here locally, and I'm sure I'll be able to eat 9 cans of them in two months anyway, so it's not a big deal. br>br>I can't express how much better these taste; I don't know how to put it into words!.
Place these treats on top of Wasa rosemary and sea salt crackers. Sprinkle it with kosher salt and drizzle it with the smoky olive oil before devouring it. It's simply amazing. It makes me happy for hours, and it's a shame to waste any oil at all. Make a meal out of it by dipping some crusty garlic bread into it. Thank you very much, Crown Prince.
I checked out the reviews for these oysters on Amazon and elsewhere on the internet. I couldn't think of anything that could make these so much better. I just finished a can, and now I see what you mean: the oysters I'd been getting were more like chewing on rubber, small and round, and fried in cottonseed oil. These are a huge improvement. They've grown in size and are shaped correctly. The best part is that they melt in my mouth and have a fantastic flavor! I'm not a big fan of raw oysters, so these are ideal for me. They are truly superior to the competition, and while they are more expensive, you get what you pay for. I'm not going to wait any longer; I'm going to open another can right now!.
This is a lighter, more filling take on smoked oysters. Read up on oysters and eat them as part of a healthy diet, but the high zinc content can help your body a lot. Males in particular. The decent quality extra virgin olive oil in which they're packed makes these the best to buy, as it eliminates any strong fishy taste that ones in water have. I'm wary of seafood from Asian waters these days, but this is probably far enough away from Japan to be considered completely safe. Enjoy!.
" Having oyster stuffing for the holidays has always been a tradition in my family. This year, I couldn't find any oysters that weren't made in China when I went to buy them. Since learning that my APPLE JUICE was made in CHINA, I've started looking for where the product was sold in the grocery store. What a pathetic situation. Amazon stepped in to save the day. Yes, they are more expensive, but I would buy them if they were available locally. br>br>As I ate them, I became aware of the gradual deterioration in quality that we have come to accept as normal. These oysters taste exactly like the ones I remember from my childhood. Fantastic- They don't have a grainy appearance to them. br>br>I'm not sure how much longer we'll have to import all of our food from China- that wonderful country that is willing to put PLASTIC in baby formula to poison them.
Although the price is higher than what I recall paying at TG's, the taste and quality make it worthwhile. I believe it is the olive oil, not the cheaper cottonseed oil used by some of the other brands, that makes the difference.
I love that these delectable smoked oysters can be ordered through Subscribe. Save. I've always liked smoked oysters, but I'm not a fan of the cottonseed oil they're usually cooked in. These are made with extra virgin olive oil. Fantastic! The flavor is just right. The texture and firmness are just right. The price is reasonable. The frequency with which packages are delivered is steadily increasing.
Yum. Oysters are one of my favorite foods, and if you bring a small fork or toothpick, you can eat them on the go. It was difficult to limit myself to one can at a time, and I really appreciated the olive oil in place of the other nonsense.
