Before opening, is it required that they be refrigerated? I should have asked that question earlier. I have ordered things that were packed in dry ice before, and they did not ?

Town with a population of about 1,000 people

There are a few food problems that come with living in a small town It's difficult to find foods that are familiar to us. The Matjes Herring I have been looking for fit the bill. All I need from the sellers is additional cold packs to package the items. Apart from that, it was just like I expected.

It was cold when we arrived, but now it's warmer

There was a meltdown of the paks. It was delightful to eat the spiced herring My memory of it is the same. In spite of getting sick, I ate it anyway. It was warm when it arrived, who knows how long it was outside and the ice packs were all melted, and I didn't know why it couldn't be refrigerated while in transit. It was expensive. I purchased it as a luxury, as a treat, but I would not spend that much money again (approximately $14 for two small jars), it should be around $5 or $6 each, but we can't find it locally.
