It's incredible how far canned fruit has progressed in the last two decades. In my youth, I remember eating Dole canned fruit like this and finding it to be quite unpleasant and clearly canned. When the inevitable oncoming apocalypse collapses our society and money becomes worthless, invest in canned goods like this Dole tropical fruit because they will be worth their weight in gold when the inevitable oncoming apocalypse collapses our society and money becomes worthless. Well, what gold is worth today, because gold will be significantly less valuable after civilization collapses.
Fruit in a can has a great flavor. The taste of juice is far superior to that of ordinary syrup. There was a little too much pineapple in this recipe. The price, however, has risen dramatically! I paid $15 for a case the last time I bought one. now $29. Really? No way; I can get these for $1 at my local store. 25 can.
' Fruit is something I really miss during the winter. I try to keep a supply of my favorite canned goods in my cabin. br>br>This one is one of my favorites because it contains a nice variety of fruits and the syrup isn't too sweet for me. Vitamins on top of that! br>br>Because the nearest store is 40 minutes away, delivery to my door is a huge plus. br>br>Taste is great, and the can is big enough for a couple of servings. br>br>Strongly advised.
I had a lot of dented cans, one of which was so bad that it leaked sticky all over the place. I had no choice but to toss it away.
Surprisingly, I only eat this fruit in a single manner. I pour half of each can into one Tupperware type container and pour the other half into a second container. It should be placed in the freezer. Then, whenever I want a super dessert, I just pop it in the microwave for 20 seconds on high and go to town. Even after 20 seconds of warming, it's still mostly frozen, which is exactly how I like it. Make changes based on your specific requirements. It is MUCH sweeter when frozen than when eaten at room temperature. I am a charming young lady. This works for me because it is holoic. And, here on Amazon, the price is approximately 35% less than both of our largest supermarkets. This is one of the best!.
Although the container is disgusting, the contents are delicious. Because the pieces of fruit are so large, it's difficult to fit more than one on a table spoon. The top-of-the-can opener fails more than half of the time, so I keep a claw hammer by the sink to open the cans when the pop top fails.
Is there any intention of bringing guava back into the mix with the new cans? I've been buying this stuff for a long time, even when it contained bananas. In my area, Kroger no longer carries the comparable store label, so I tried a lesser brand that I threw away after one bite of a bad can. br>br>Dole, please stop 'improving' a fantastic product! Otherwise, I would have given it five stars.
