DEL MONTE VERY CHERRY Flavored Mixed Fruit in Extra Light Syrup, Canned Fruit, 15 oz Can

Things aren't always as they appear on the surface. This item is proof of that. Fruit cocktail was one of my favorite desserts when I was a kid. It was one of my more nutritious snacks. So when I saw this, I made an impulse purchase in the hopes of reliving a small part of my youth. I was already disappointed when I first opened the can. I poured it into a bowl to count the number of cherries inside. It would be an understatement to say that it was a letdown. The label artwork depicts a larger amount of cherries than the product actually contains. It appeared to be mostly pears, followed by peaches, and then a smattering of grapes and cherries, based on the can I had. Despite this, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed, at least not by the taste; in fact, I wasn't disappointed by the taste, but rather by the fact that it didn't match my memories of it; it's not bad; in fact, it's quite tasty. But, who knows, maybe they'll throw in some artificial flavor enhancers now. *shrugs* As a result, it doesn't taste as fruity as I remember. I wish I could have given it a higher rating, but a 3 isn't bad. Isn't there a fruit cocktail that's even better? Purchase it, but don't hold your breath for it to live up to my expectations.

Cans were delivered in separate packages. I placed three separate orders: One was severely dented, while the other was only slightly dented. The other will be revealed later. It is not worthwhile to return. This is a bad business decision.

It goes well with yogurt. granola, in a smoothie, or on their own.
