The blends of Nespresso Double Espresso have recently been updated. The intensity of Double Espresso Scuro was previously set at 8, but it has now been increased to 11 for a darker, more assertive blend. Each morning, I start by brewing one of these in a 16-ounce cold cup, then letting it cool while I finish the rest of my breakfast. Next, I fill the cup with ice from my Opal Ice Maker, a packet of Splenda, and a half-cup or so of cold milk. Yes, the pods are a little pricey, but they're still a lot less expensive than any coffee shop or even McDonald's espresso drinks, and they're right in my kitchen. Scuro, the other double shot variety, has a stronger flavor but goes great with chocolate milk to make a delicious mocha.
**update** I just wanted to clarify for those who claim that these pods and boxes look different and are therefore suspected of being counterfeit. This is a genuine item. Nespresso pods are made in multiple locations (if my understanding is correct, there are two), and the writing on the pod and box is determined by the location of the manufacturer. You can buy with confidence. Despite the fact that the pods (appear) to be slightly different, no one is imitating these vertuoline pods. This is one of the main reasons why they were created in the first place. br>br>This is my favorite vertuoline pod of all time. I used to get the blue diavolitto pod, which had like 80 calories in it. Those just didn't cut it for me on a regular basis (though they were ideal for when I was pregnant, as they were right in the recommended daily caffeine intake range). I really like the flavor of diavolitto, but I needed something stronger, so I tried about four different pods, including the other double espresso version (which I believe is called scuro?). ) and that was a completely different experience, not at all smooth and difficult to accept as my daily coffee, despite the fact that it wasn't unpalatable. This is significantly better than the scuro in this case. I tried the scuro because I thought I needed that extra kick because it was stronger, but I was mistaken. This is a strong coffee with a great kick, but not to the point of being bitter (keep in mind that I mix my coffee with half and half, sugar, and, more recently, cocoa powder packets (mmmmm, the cocoa is a nice addition). Anyway, to cut a long story short, if you like stronger flavored coffee with no bitter aftertaste and more caffeine than diavolitto, you'll love this Chiaro version. Enjoy! I have done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Also, BUYER BEWARE, I'm thinking nespresso adds a type of addictive addictive that isn't coffee, Ha Ha! Seriously, I'm just kidding, but THIS STUFF IS ADDICTIVE. br>I'm not sure I'll ever be able to go back to regular coffee: oops.
Each sleeve contains 10 capsules, totaling 30 capsules in the box. These capsules can only be used in machines from the Nespresso Vertuo line. These will not work if you own a genuine Nespresso machine. When I first got my Nespresso Vertuo machine, it came with a sampler of all of their different capsules, and I really liked these! I usually use them in homemade lattes (both iced and hot), but I've also tried them on their own and they're delicious.
The Nespresso website can be perplexing and difficult to navigate at times. It was a lot easier to order these from Amazon! I'm a big fan of the double espressos. In comparison to the medium roast, this darker roast is much less acidic, and mine did not come popped. I would buy these again because they were all sealed and worked perfectly.
Updated 12/30/19: I purchased the same sleeve from a Nespresso boutique with identical markings. So, everything is fine! br>br>Tastes good and is a good value, but the different label ON the capsule and the slight difference in the capsule's color both bothered me. Has this happened to anyone else?.

For our daily cafe con lech fix, we searched high and low for strong, smooth coffee. We decided to give these double espresso cups a try, and they were AMAZING! They taste great. We no longer need to go out to a coffee shop because we can make delicious, smooth, bold coffee in our own kitchen. If you want a strong, bold espresso flavor that goes down smoothly, these are highly recommended. Delish!.
I was so excited to try these out and show our entire team, but I was extremely disappointed when I opened all THREE of the packages and discovered that they were all coming undone.
