I have no idea. I primarily seek out antibiotic- and steroid-free chicken.

If I were shopping in person at my grocery store, I would be able to choose whether or not to buy it, as well as the quantity and timeframe in which I would buy it. Because ground chicken isn't always in stock during quarantine, I bought several pounds, and now I have a couple of pounds of ground chicken that will expire in two days with no plans to eat them before then. Yes, I will transfer them to freezer bags and store them in my freezer, but I do not like to freeze my meat, so this is something I would not have chosen if I had known this beforehand; otherwise, I have no complaints about the product.
I ordered this in early July to make tacos, and while I'm not sure if ground chicken usually tastes like this (it was my first try; I usually get whole chickens or drumsticks/thighs), it smelled strongly like animal or dog hair when raw. even in the middle when the spices have been added to the cooking I'm not sure what spoiled chicken smells like, or if this is typical of ground chicken, but it was extremely unpleasant. We didn't eat it and threw it away. I don't think it's a good idea.
Knowing this, and knowing that when I order meat products, the expiration date is usually right around the corner, it wasn't a big deal to me when I received my order today (January 3) and saw the expiration date was January 5th. Just don't complain if you place an order and discover the delivery date is only a few days away because you were warned by the reviews. Good luck in the kitchen:.
There are only a few days left to use after delivery before it expires. That isn't a feature of the item.
I ordered ground chicken breast the first time and didn't realize it until later that the rest of the items I ordered were also labeled as ground chicken. Sloppy joes are one of my favorite dishes to make with it. I ended up freezing when I received my last package. The smell was very different from other times when I thawed and then cooked it. Boiling chicken has a sweaty smell to it. It smells like ground turkey that isn't the leanest. Perhaps it's because there's a lot of dark meat on the menu. The texture was also a little mushy, which could have been due to the freezing. With trepidation, I added the seasonings and ate it. It was a hit with my husband, but I couldn't get past the odor. We didn't get sick, but I'm not sure I'll order again for a while, or if I will, I'll wait for breast and not freeze/thaw the package.
Because I had always bought ground turkey, this was my first time buying ground chicken, and I had already put the chicken in the freezer before reading some of the reviews about the rosemary and vinegar taste in the meat. There was nothing in this meat that tasted like rosemary or vinegar, which I dislike. It had a fantastic flavor to it. br>br>I cooked a quarter pound of meat for my cat and used it to make tacos. It was fantastic for both of us! Instead of ground turkey, I'll be purchasing ground chicken in the future. I prefer the texture to turkey, and my cat preferred it as well.
Ground chicken is far superior to ground turkey in terms of flavor. This Perdue brand, which I buy, has a consistent flavor and smell. Since switching from turkey to chicken, I have had no problems.
