I don't believe that is the case.
When I got it, it had a very long shelf life, as I recall. It had been packed in a vacuum.
Minnesota, I believe it is. You can look it up on the internet.

For the past year, I've been ordering Just Bare chicken products from Amazon Fresh. Until recently, the quality was adequate. Despite having a good expiration date, the chicken on two different orders smelled spoiled, so I tossed it out to avoid food poisoning. Please, Amazon Fresh, do a better job.
It started out fine, but over the last few months, the quality has deteriorated to the point where the tenders are now nothing more than scraps of chicken. You almost never get a full tenderloin, and when you do, the tenderloin is unusually large. I went to Whole Foods and bought Bell Evans chicken and couldn't believe the difference in quality; I guess over time as the quality dropped, I didn't notice. I used to get most of our groceries from Amazon Fresh, but after this (and recent sweet potatoes), I now buy produce and meat at the store. I was going to give it a one-star rating, but no one reads one-star reviews.
My order arrived on Tuesday, and when I opened the package to cook it tonight, it smelled rotten and spoiled. I couldn't stand the smell and had to dispose of it because I didn't want to become ill. This is the first time I've ordered tenders from Amazon; I've previously ordered chicken breasts from the same brand and they've been excellent; I'm not sure what went wrong with these. I won't be ordering this again; I didn't read the reviews before ordering, but now I see that many others have complained about the same thing.
The chicken tenders aren't always of high quality; you may receive a lot of scrappy chicken on occasion. BARE should produce higher-quality chicken, in my opinion.
I cancelled my Fresh subscription because this chicken is so freaking bad.
I had no choice but to throw them. I got the chicken (I bought two) and they smelled bad the next day as I was preparing to cook them. It was necessary to discard them.
Every bite of this chicken contained "tenderloin" bits, which made the chicken disgusting because you had to constantly spit out the tenderloin bits after each bite. I was only looking for plain chicken tenders - It can't possibly be that difficult. I've ordered this chicken three times now, and each time the results have been the same. This is the last time I'll order this item.
We used to buy organic chicken until we learned some unpleasant truths about our 'farmer. ' We used Amazon/Whole Foods until one order was sold out after searching and failing to find a suitable source. This big-ticket item was given to us. Give the box staple a shot. br>br>I'm taken aback. I mean that in a positive light. This chicken was nearly two weeks past its sell-by/freeze-by date, it was clean and neatly trimmed in the tray, and it only tasted like chicken (no plastic, chemicals, or other additives). The date-based freezing was crucial. Despite our best efforts, we were infected with the flu. It was comforting to know that when we were ready to eat it, it would still be edible.
