Despite knowing about this product for years, I did not purchase it until I got tired of hearing about it. So I bought it and let it stain my freezer for quite a while The idea of using or trying it does not appeal to me. The reason why I can't figure it out is beyond me. It's always been peeled garlic or fresh chopped garlic for me. It was one day I was in need of garlic but couldn't find it. It had been sitting in my freezer, untouched, until I remembered that I had it. It was therefore difficult for me to see the benefit of It makes me so mad that I did not use this product for all those years. This is the only form of garlic I trust. Besides garlic bread and pizza, it tastes fresh enough to use it on other dishes as well. The oil can be used for more than just.
Trader Joe's is where I normally get this frozen garlic from. In an order to Fresh I decided to include them since I had no fresh garlic and I had some familiarity with the brand and quality. It is the same brand, but not the same quality as Fresh. TJ's servings are square, but they are oval at the maker, so it looks like the maker made different batches for each distributor. After I flavored some beans with this batch, we had a bitter taste in our mouths for the rest of the day. This is so sad!.
I love how convenient and easy it is to use the garlic. Herds of garlic used to be bought every week, and my mother would peel them night after night and blend it until a smooth paste was created, then freeze it. For me, seeing this product for the first time was an absolute moment of awe. It stinks in my fingers for days after I peel garlic, so I don't like to peel it sometimes. I think this is a good thing!.
It is not the garlic that is the One of the difficult things about it is that half of it stays inside a little capsule, making it hard to remove. It is okay other than that, since it eliminates the need for smashing and using a spoon for the garlic (I know, it is just the chef's lazy side).
There is nothing like garlic to taste like! Garlic has a very very strong taste that permeates the food that you cook with it, bordering on that bitter taste that other people have also As a starting point, I recommend cutting back on the amount you use by half. As for me, I won't be purchasing this product The device is extremely convenient, but its strength is much greater than what I prefer.
Using this product resulted in pieces of plastic in my food after it was packaged. It is difficult to remove from food.
It's pretty convenient, but not as easy to remove them from the pouch as you might expect. The package flies out of the box and a couple of them fall out. Because of their high defrosting rate, they cannot be left on the counter for long.
The whole batch of Dorot little packs is in my freezer! The frozen garlic and basil are such a great addition to my cocking because I save the time and the fresh ingredients still taste great. Every time I'm short on garlic or regular basil, I remember I have it and grab it from the freezer instead of visiting the shop.
