As Julie points out, the origins of this item are mainland China, which I know does not appeal to you. In any case, it is a good product and we have not received any complaints about it. Chilean prawns or wild gulf shrimp from the United States of America are also excellent options. I thank Dan Wholey for his help
It doesn't make sense to There are two packs in the package. I threw out the first two because they were so fishy.
In short, we were being taken advantage of with standard shipping to the west coast. We had inexpensive shipping and most of our customers ordered from California/ Washington/ Oregon, which resulted in us losing money every time we shipped. Our shipping is cheaper on our own website where we ship less and sometimes for free. We changed everything to two day air for 40 dollars and now we break even on shipments to the west coast. Louisiana and West Virginia are the two main producers. As well as North America and Europe, Asia produces it. All crawfish are edible, but the best are in Louisiana, much like the Wid Gulf shrimp is considered the gold standard. Asian products are acceptable but should only be used in preparations with a large amount of flavor, such as gumbo Using LA crawfish is the best choice if it is going to be relatively naked.
