It's not greasy at all. The flavor is excellent. Johnsonville's brats are a good substitute for Fletcher's brats in a beer recipe: Saute onion, add brats to brown, then mix in three tablespoons of quality mustard, turn up heat to med high to get a good sizzle going, then add a full bottle of Red Hook ESB, or a red ale, or another ESB, cover, and turn the heat down to simmer until the meat is done, and/or the sauce is reduced to your When reduced, the sauce is thick enough to fill a hogie roll (horseradish can be substituted for mustard). If you're in a hurry, go with the medium heat.
I ordered these tonight in the hopes of cooking dinner for my fiancé and myself before going out, but they arrived frozen solid. I've bought these from other stores before and they weren't kept in this manner. You should probably mention that somewhere in the description.
I adore bratwurst, and there are so many varieties to choose from here in Los Angeles. But when I'm at home, this is my go-to. The Italians are also pleasant to be around /w some pizza sauce. But beer brats all the way (despite the fact that I despise beer). If you're into that sort of thing, this goes great with some stone ground mustard!.
When I can't find these, I buy other brats, but these have the best flavor of all the brats I've ever purchased. And I'm a big fan of sausage.
I haven't tried this pack, but Johnsonville products are known for their juicy flavor.
These are delicious, and you can add mushrooms, bell peppers (yellow, red, and orange), and onion to them. Preheat the oven to 350°F and roll out the dough. Yummy! Of course, they're fantastic on their own.
What can you say about a bunch of brats? They were still cold when they arrived, but they were exactly what I had requested.
These have a flavor that I don't care for. They're salty and spiced in an unusual way. I should have just gone with the classic German bratwurst, which I adore.
