Questions & Answers

What about the instructions for use at home? I only got instructions for a commercial machine; does anyone have the measurements for a 1 1/2 quart machine?

I had to e-mail 7/8 cup to 3 cup cold water for a 1 1/2 quart maker. Please contact the creators.

What is the best way to mix per small container?

Because I don't know your package size, I'll give you my solution, which is on the back of the recipe. Calculate the small portion size by multiplying the package amount by the mix amount. EX: I have a 6 pound, 96 ounce bag. There are 8 quarts in this recipe. 12 oz/qt = approx 24 tablespoons or 1 1/2 cup (96 oz/8 qts = 12 oz/qt = approx 24 tablespoons or 1 1/2 cup) For a creamier taste, I use milk instead of water; additionally, if you blend fruit, add an approx. It makes a delicious ice cream with the right amount of frostline and milk. This combination of strawberries and blueberries is delicious, and no sugar is required. Coffee creamers and drink mixers can also be used to enhance the flavor of your drink. I recommend crushing oreos in a bag and adding them right before serving. Good luck; just figure out how much you'll need and then taste it.

If I only have a 2, how would I go about making this? Is there an ice cream maker that can make a pint of ice cream?

2 cups milk, 1 cup half-and-half is what I recommend. I cup of ice cream mix and half a cup of whipping cream Vanilla is made with regular milk. To make chocolate milk, combine 1/4 cup chocolate syrup with 1 cup chocolate milk. This should work, in my opinion.

Is it possible to make a smoothie out of the powdered mix by blending it with liquids, other ingredients, and ice?

I don't think there's any reason why it shouldn't be done. That's something I've never done before, but it sounds delicious!

I noticed a lot of disagreement in the comments about the proper mix-to-liquid ratio, but no one seemed to have done the math, so here it is. This recipe makes approximately 4 CUPS of ice cream liquid mix. For maximum creaminess, chill for at least two hours before using. Process for about 20 minutes in a soft serve machine. The ice cream that results is silky smooth, creamy, and delicious. There's a nice vanilla flavor to it, and it's quite sweet. It wasn't at all icy or grainy, and it tasted just as good as, if not better than, anything I've had at Dairy Queen. I haven't yet attempted to use only water - I'll let you know when I'm done. br>br>I have a one-bedroom apartment. I noticed that the majority of the negative reviews were caused by the product's quantity; this is a six-pound bag without instructions for smaller home machines! I went ahead and ordered it anyway, and discovered that I can use a 1 part mix to 2 part liquid ratio
4/5

Water is not something I use. 1 cup whole milk, 1 cup heavy cream, and 1 cup mix are the ingredients I use. I also mixed in about a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder with the milk before adding it to the mix, as I thought it was a little too sweet and not quite chocolatey enough. If you try this, you might want to strain it because I couldn't get all of the lumps of cocoa powder to dissolve completely in the milk. The consistency was a little gummy right out of the machine, but after a few hours in the freezer, it was much better.

Just OK

This item is merely adequate. It has a strange texture to it. It's a little pasty, and the vanilla flavor isn't quite there. The mixture is still being tested. For a 1-pound cake, I combined 1 cup of mix with 2 cups water. 1/2 gallon of frozen food I'm thinking of using a smaller amount of mix and a little more water. In the future. br>Update: THIS IS AMAZING - This is a great combination to try: br>3/4 cup of mixbr>3/4 cup of creambr>1 cup of sugarbr> 1/4 cup whole milkbr>1 teaspoon vanillabr>In a mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and chill for at least 2 hours (this will make it creamier) - The resulting frozen soft serve is some of the best you'll ever taste!.

I followed the instructions as well as the suggestions on the paper, and the ice cream turned out beautifully
5/5

The key is to let it cool completely before putting it in your machine, which I used, the Cuisinart Mix It 45. Soft serve was fantastic. I mixed 1 cup of the powder with 1 1/2 cups of 2% milk and 1 1/4 cups of COLD water and 1 1/4 cups of COLD water. I whisked it together and chilled it for about 4 hours. It took 5 hours to ensure that it was truly freezing. Then I put it in the freezer for about 5 minutes before putting it in my machine. The time is 6 minutes. br>br>It came out beautifully. I'm going to buy it again without a doubt.

So easy! So rich and creamy! Other flavors will be purchased in the future
5/5

Yum! For my first, it was super simple. I used a 5 quart Cusinart ice cream maker and mixed 7/8 cup of the mixture with 2 3/4 cups of ice cold whole milk, then let her run for about 20 minutes. It turned out creamy and fluffy, as you can see from the pictures. I like that it's shelf stable and that all I need is milk to make it. I'm not sure why it got such a low ranking because it was stringy. Soft serve is stringy in every way. Next time, I'll use less milk and add some chilled espresso to make it a mocha treat! On the mix, the packaging is fine. I put my mix in a large freezer bag, write the recipe on the front with a sharpie, and keep it on a shelf.

Easy to make, smooth ice cream
5/5

I'm not sure why this product has such a bad reputation; I just finished my first batch in a Cuisinart Ice-cream Maker. I followed the instructions and frozen the bucket before making a small batch of ice cream. I used 2 cups of water and 3/4 cup of mix, then chilled it for 20 minutes before putting it in the ice cream maker. The ice cream took less than 20 minutes to freeze and was silky smooth with no ice crystals. This is the only way to make ice cream because it's easy to do, tastes great, and costs very little for the amount of ice cream the bag makes. I'm going to experiment with adding nuts or other flavorings next time.

Bags that are filthy, old, and smelly
3/5

The bags are filthy and old, with dust and ice mix all over them. They appear to be scraps from a previous meal. I despise the fact that they arrived late and were rude.

Simply start from the beginning
3/5

When I got my kids a soft serve ice cream maker for Christmas, I bought this along with a bag of chocolate. It had been a nightmare. It was not going to firm up. We then created our own recipe, which turned out to be quite simple and worked perfectly. I'm now stuck with a bag of this stuff for which I won't be able to get a refund. This product has left me very disappointed.
