We are still in the middle of a very green season.
My dad loves this neat little cactus, which is a pretty good deal. I bought it for him, and he is very happy with There is no doubt that this is I just wanted to let you know that Listed product description says that it will be shipped in a 6" pot within 1 day. This is incorrect. Pots are not included in this calculation It ships with its bare roots wrapped up and on its side. You can find the Legal Disclaimer in the "Important Information" section when you click on "Live plant shipped BARE ROOTS. ". Buying a pot a couple weeks before your cactus arrives isn't a big deal, but be prepared. Ideally, you should go for a 6" one.
I chose to plant it in a 4" pot (this was a small plant). Additionally, although the roots were wrapped to protect them, the paper towel they were wrapped in was dry as a bone, and I had to cut them off when I unwrapped them. A brief update This pencil cactus has been in my collection for about 5 months now, and it is now showing signs of improvement. The number of sticks I had lost had decreased from 3 in the beginning to 2 by the end of the first month That was a bummer considering the size of the plant was smaller than expected and the number of sticks was not sufficient to have had 3 drop A new group of sticks has sprouted and so far looks great. YES, I say! The orange or red color that drew me to the product is what I'm looking forward to seeing. APRIL 2017 UPDATE It has not turned red or orange.
There were several directions I found for planting the plant, but the one I found stated, "Plant it as you would any other new plant. ". Give it water as needed and don't over-expose it to the sun at first. I've been watering it for a few weeks now, and the plant is doing great, getting new leaves and growing taller every day. The doll I received is probably two inches taller and 50% fuller now than when I received it. Only thing I need to know now is how much cold this plant can withstand. I saw a similar plant in Kenya a couple months ago, but the stem was about 15 feet taller. think I'll cover the planter if I need to or roll the planter into the garage based on how cold it will be in the winter.
It is amazing what a beautiful plant this is! This is an amazing piece of music. Once I potted it up into a larger pot, I staked it up so it would be able to develop roots, and the soil would compact a bit around it. When the weather is warm, it goes outside to dry, here in Chicago. Overwintering inside a doorframe, it receives lots of rain. I expected it to go dormant during the winter but it put out tons of new growth, though it was green due to the lack of direct sun. The pot will need to be potted up again soon if I continue along this path. There is a huge growth in this. Despite being a toxic plant, one must be very careful when handling it, seeing as the sap can burn those with sensitive skin. With attention and care, however, it's a wonderful addition to the collection.
This description could not be further from the truth. I was a bit surprised at how small it is, and it doesn't come in the pot A buyer - I appreciate you refunding my money right away.
The answer is yes as other commenters have already pointed out. Rather than being delivered in a pot, the cactus arrived in a very carefully packaged was very careful in unwrapping this plant and planted it in a strawberry planter as you can see. My first encounter with succulents has been a complete surprise. As such, I hope I have done what I need to do as mounting this cactus for the moment so that it can stabilize itself until the roots are able to take over. Since you can see there are new growths on the plant, I think it was taken care of by the seller. Death may come to this cactus. There will be no one else to blame but myself. I just thought you might want to know. The seller may have more plants for me to buy.
