Questions & Answers

What is the expiration date, as none of the pictures show it?

I've used up my salsa mix, but I still have some of their guacamole mix, which is about a year and a half old. A dry seasoning mix sealed in foil isn't something I'd be concerned about.

I'm curious if the brushetta can be canned (in a hot water bath) or if it's only meant to be eaten right away. ?

preparing food for consumption

Is it possible to can this in a water bath?

Yes. I was able to water bath can this mixture without any problems. Any of the small Mrs Wage's packets do not include instructions for canning. Only the big ones are allowed. So find out how long it takes to make salsa with water. I don't recall anything off the top of my head. In addition, I ALWAYS add citric acid to EVERY tomato product that I water bath can to ensure that the acid level is correct. You could also use vinegar or lemon juice. For pints, I use 1/4 teaspoon and for quarts, I use 1/2 teaspoon.

What exactly are the components of this item?

Seasoning with diced tomatoes

Only good for FRESH salsa, but it has a fantastic flavor
5/5

I purchased this with the expectation that it would be similar to other Mrs Wages salsa mixes. IT'S NOT! I mean, the flavor is fantastic, and the price is reasonable, but YOU CANNOT DO IT! And that's a real pity. This mix is only for salsa that has been freshly made. 2 tomatoes, mixed with the rest of the ingredients, set aside for 10 minutes, and presto! Salsa that is ready in a flash and tastes fantastic. Is it something I'd go out of my way to get? I would, in fact. I'm hoping that Mrs Wages will come up with a way to can this in the future. It is truly excellent and deserving of your attention.

too hot
3/5

I purchased this mix because I grow my own tomatoes and like to have homemade salsa on hand at all times; my family prefers medium-hot salsa, so I purchased the medium salsa mix. In the grocery store, I usually purchase the "medium" flavor of commercial Mexican sauces. This concoction is incredibly hot! My husband and I, as well as our guests, couldn't stand the heat. We aren't wimps when it comes to spicy food. If this is considered medium, their "hot" must be too hot to consume. I tried adding sugar, lemon juice, and a lot more tomatoes, but it didn't make much of a difference. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to use the remainder of my packets.

Wages salsa red pouches are no match for this. I've tried both the red and green Mrs. Wages medium salsa pouches with fresh and canned tomatoes, and I prefer the flavor of the green pouches with canned tomatoes. br>br>Even though I like Mrs. Wages salsa in green pouches, I prefer the vacuum-packed version. The salsa in the grocery store's refrigerated section still tastes a million times better. However, the cost difference is significant, particularly when using canned diced tomatoes, which are frequently on sale. Despite the higher price, I'm likely to return to the refrigerated salsa.

I emailed the company and gave them the B5042R04 code that was printed on the outside of the packages. Within the hour, they had responded: br>br>"Thank you for getting in touch with Kent Precision Foods Group and selecting Mrs. Wages® Guacamole Seasoning- 1 Oz. br>br>Each Mrs. Wages® pouch has an 8-digit code on the side that can be used to determine when the product was made. The number after that is the last digit of the year the mix was made, e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g. , e. g A four denotes the year 2014. Packaging is of a good size

I use this bruschetta mix to make tomato bruschetta for Italian bread topping (recipe on the package). Toasted bread slices are topped with tomato bruschetta, a drizzle of olive oil, and a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese. Excellent for appetisers. It's a hit with the whole family and our dinner group.

You'll Never Believe How Easy It Is To Make Salsa! This is not only the best, but also the easiest salsa mix you'll ever make, and the size packet is ideal for two people

If fresh tomatoes are available, I use them, but in the winter, Red Gold whole canned tomatoes (regular 15oz) suffice. The Classic Mediterranean is one of my favorite styles of music. I prefer heat packages because they allow me to make multiple types of salsa from a single packet. I might just add some chopped green pepper for those who can't handle a lot of heat. onion. If desired, garnish with cilantro that has been finely chopped. Extra chopped green pepper is a personal favorite of mine. cilantro, cilantro, cilantro, cilantro, cilantro, cilantro, cilantro, cilantro, cilantro, cilantro For a spicy salsa, use either a chopped habenero or a jolokia pepper. Simply combine everything in a blender and blend until smooth. "Chop" it to the desired consistency, then give it a 5-minute rest. It takes 6 minutes for the flavors to meld. You have the most recent salsa available.

OMG - Yummy
5/5

Last summer, I canned 75 pints of salsa using different Mrs. Wages mixes. The "Hot" flavor is available in a 4 oz. canning supply package I was unable to locate the 4 oz. So I used 5 of the 0 from the "Jalapeno" variety. Packages of 8 oz. There's also a Habanero variety, I believe. Maybe I'll give it a shot this year. In the winter, I enjoy breaking open a jar of canned tomatoes, but it's nice to have another use for them. This is far superior to anything you could buy in a store. salsa that I purchased Mrs. Wages also makes a variety of other canning and pickling items, but they can be difficult to come by in stores. I was relieved to discover it on Amazon.
