Questions & Answers

What if I want to make yogurt out of almond milk?

Thanks for stopping by. Even though it will ferment, it is unlikely to create a creamy yogurt-like product, as it has not been formulated for this kind of use Applications relating to dairy products. In addition to that a non-alcoholic pop is available as well Even with a dairy starter, commercial nutmilks (other than soy) do not have enough protein to form a yogurt matrix properly. Using homemade almond milk may produce a thicker yogurt. This is meant for milk and not nutmilks, but if there is enough sugar present (it doesn't take a lot), fermentation and acid production will occur, though this is dependent on the amount of protein present. I appreciate your help. The KKHF

Is there a legal certificate or a lab test? It makes great yogurt, but does this company have any official laboratory statements stating that the starter contains all the mentioned bacteria? Bifido bacteria have been mentioned as being able to combat candida and I was intrigued by this fact
