What am I missing, and how did this cheese get such a high rating? I'd never left a review for cheese before, but after paying so much for it and being so disappointed by how bad it is in comparison to the reviews, I felt compelled to do so. I despise the cheese! First and foremost, it is non-melting and has the consistency of plastic. It's thick and stiff, and it has no taste. It might be mistaken for real food. I can't believe how different the product I got is from the reviews I read here. This was the worst cheese I've ever bought, and it lacked all of the characteristics listed in the description and reviews. I double-checked the package to make sure it hadn't expired or been tampered with in any way. When I got it, it was still vacuum sealed. I'm not going to buy anything else from Organic Valley. The price of this cheese was astronomical. pre-ordering costs more than $7 sliced cheese that isn't from the deli? I was expecting pure bliss, but it turned out to be the worst, most inedible cheese I've ever bought. Horrible cheese and an awful experience. Even a stray dog that I feed refused to eat this cheese. He'll eat just about anything, too.
Because of the positive reviews, I had high expectations for this organic Provolone cheese. Unfortunately, it has an odd waxy, rubbery, dry, and flavorless texture. The strings become even rubberier when they are melted. What a waste of time.
It's cheese, so you can't go wrong, especially if it's organic.
I follow a keto/carno diet, and this is a delicious addition to it. I would strongly suggest it.
