Questions & Answers

Is this a pile of sticks or a pile of pieces?

Each pach has 14 sticks and there are 12 packs in the box. Thank you very much.br>

Ex date?

The gum I received has a 1/3/2020 expiration date on it. However, I must inform you that the new packaging (as opposed to the original 18-pack) is much better. It's terrible (stick packs). In comparison to the old paper wraps, the small box that holds the 12 sticks is inconvenient, and the "new" foil wrapping on the individual sticks is also inconvenient. They essentially fixed a problem that did not exist in the first place. I'm not going to make any more purchases.

Is it true that pastillas are a type of pastilla?

No, they're chicles or mascara for tyres.

Trident chewing gum is made in the United Kingdom. ?

Only the name of the company is mentioned on the package: East Hanover, New Jersey-based Mondelez Global. However, there is no indication that it is made in that location.

Danger lurks in the shadows
3/5

I kept getting a lot of brain fog, dizziness, and memory issues. I decided to give up Aspartame after watching the documentary "Sweet Misery" on YouTube. br>br>The only product I was eating that contained Aspartame was this Trident gum. Every day, I chewed an entire pack of gum. Peelu (which does not contain aspartame) was the brand I switched to. br>br>For about a month and a half, I had withdrawal symptoms, which I can only assume were withdrawal symptoms. My brain functioned much better after the symptoms subsided, and the dizziness went away entirely. I had a problem with biting my tongue all the time while chewing the Trident, which mysteriously vanished as well. br>br>If I hadn't seen it for myself, I might have doubted that aspartame was to blame, but all I can say is that the symptoms went away after I stopped taking it. br>br>Another thing I noticed was that Trident had an addictive effect on me, where I felt compelled to constantly pop a new piece into my mouth all the time. br>After switching to Peelu, this went away as well, and I now chew significantly less.

BLOWN AWAY by the new formula
3/5

SWITCH is the word of the day. The new formula, as well as the packaging, is a complete failure. This gum has a distinct flavor and is free of chemicals. ish and has an AWFUL aftertaste, as if you just drank a soda or ate something extremely sweet. I'm trying to stay away from it as much as possible. The whole reason I chewed a case of this every month for years was because- The old method worked perfectly. This is a disaster. It's a pain to open packages. irresponsible in terms of the environment The clear plastic cellophane is difficult to open and will fly away if opened outside. When you pull out a gum wrapper, it rips, and you can no longer keep loose pieces in your pocket. Gum is so bad that it won't even stay in one piece while you chew it; it falls apart after a few minutes. br>You guys at Trident are doing a fantastic job. You MISSED IT! br>This is the first time I've ever given Amazon a one-star review, and I'm a regular shopper!.

It's not even close to being "original flavor
3/5

" Because I have a dry mouth, I buy a lot of xylitol gum, usually Spry. I like Spry, but this was a lot cheaper, so I went ahead and bought it. br>br>What the hell happened to the classic "original flavor" that I've loved all my life? This has no resemblance to the original and is simply awful. I'm not sure if an open box of gum can be returned, but I do know that this gum stinks! Keep Spry in mind if you're looking for xylitol gum. The licorice and peppermint are both excellent. This is not a good investment!.

BEWARE! This isn't the original flavor; instead, it's "Bursting With More Flavor
3/5

" The packaging was redesigned, and the original flavor was obliterated. It doesn't even come close to the original flavor. The flavor is basically a massive burst of spearmint or peppermint, I'm not sure which, but it's overpowering. It should be called something other than "Original" because it is so powerful.

The new formula does not compare to the old one, which has been chewed for years
3/5

Since 2013, I've been chewing trident original and go through about two packs per week. As dramatic as this sounds, it was a staple product of my life, as I chewed it pretty much all day. I would frequently buy in bulk from Costco and give gum out to my friends and endorse the product. This new product is inferior to the previous formula for the following reasons: 1) Chewing for a longer period of time: br>If you chew it for a long time, it will crumble in your mouth and turn into a paste-like substance, similar to toothpaste. This is a gross feeling, and if you can't chew it, it's not gum. 2) Texture and Consistency: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b br>In comparison to the old formula, gum is much softer to chew for the duration of its life in your mouth. This could have been done on purpose, and I can theorize that this is why my first point occurs; I prefer the old consistency to the new one, but I'm sure Trident conducted studies showing that its subjects preferred softer gum. I suppose this new gum will appeal to a wider audience, but in the process, they will lose some of their loyal customers. From a practical standpoint, it makes sense. 3) Flavor: br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br> br>The taste isn't bad, but it's also not great. It has a much stronger mint flavor, but it isn't a natural mint; rather, it tastes artificial. Again, it's likely that they wanted it to have a "stronger" mint flavor, but more isn't always better. It's similar to putting too much salt on your food; a little is fine, but too much ruins the dish. br>br>4) Flavor duration: the new formula lasts half as long as the old one. This, I assume, is done on purpose to encourage users to chew more gum and use more of their product. br>br>5) Package shape: br>The new package fits better in a pocket, which I'm sure was the intention when designing it because that's where most people will keep it. It's in my car, backpack, computer, and on the coffee table next to the TV. The new shape is too large to fit into my backpack's small pockets or the car's small compartment. I have a minor annoyance with the new package shape, but it isn't a major issue for me. I just like the old package shape better.

I've been buying this gum for many years, and it's changed after years of being perfect
3/5

They changed the product; the flavor is different, it doesn't last as long, it has a different feel to it, and you can't chew for as long without getting jaw pain. The packaging is a disaster for the environment. I'm currently experimenting with different brands of peppermint gum to find a replacement because each pack is now covered in DIFFICULT to open plastic.

Bringing Back the Original Original is a must! For the past 20 years, I've been chewing gum
4/5

30 years. It used to be one of my favorites, but the company decided to make it "Bursting with More Flavor" so the flavor would last longer. It now tastes far too artificially sweet. Bringing back the Original Original is a must!.

Gum that used to be good
3/5

Now it's only good enough. They took something good and turned it into a mediocre product. The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>b br>The price is reasonable. br>The taste is satisfactory. The disadvantages: br>br> br>It's a pain to deal with the packaging. Keep a pocket knife on you at all times. br>The flavor doesn't appear to last as long as it used to. br>br>I'm not sure I want to buy this gum anymore. br>It's a pity, too. br>They should just go back to the old way of doing things.
