I'm not sure who decided that shipping these wafers in a plastic bag was a good idea. When I received them, every single one of the 24 packages had been crushed. The flavor was excellent, but the lack of even one solid wafer was disappointing to say the least, and the packaging needs to be greatly improved before I purchase again.
Because they are surprisingly low in calories and take a long time to eat, I use them as a treat when I'm craving sweets (when the craving can't be satisfied with fruit, which I try to eat first). I had no problems with the delivery; I've only had a few broken wafers so far, no more than I would have if I bought a roll from the store. br>br>It was a little pricey, but it was well worth it for me, especially considering how many rolls come in a box and how long they can take to eat. I suppose they're an acquired taste because they're a little chalky/powdery, but I adore them. I also suffer from dry mouth as a result of my medications, so having a hard candy to suck on is beneficial. br>br>The flavor is comparable to, if not superior to, that of the original. They have a nice chocolatey flavor that isn't overly rich, which I like; I think the chocolate flavor is a little better now than it was before, but I haven't had the original in a long time. If you liked them before they were sold out, you should get them now.
I was disappointed when NECCO wafers were discontinued, but I am overjoyed that the Spangler Company is now producing them in my home state of Ohio again. I can't tell if the quality is better or worse - Nonetheless, it is a five-star product.
All of the candies have been broken! This item should have been packaged in a box and bubble wrapped to keep it from crumbling.
I was recently out and about and came across these at a Cracker Barrel. I paid an absurdly high price for them, but I adore them nonetheless. So, as is customary, I went to Amazon. And there they were. . . happy happy. . . I read the reviews about how quickly they arrived and how delicious they were. I considered it, I considered it, I considered it, I considered it, I considered it, I considered it, I And it was all in order. They arrived in their own box, and the packaging was fantastic. Everything was perfect when it arrived!! Happy, happy, happy!.
I placed an order for two boxes and received one large, well-wrapped box instead. There were two tightly packed boxes inside, as well as two more foam-cushioned boxes in which the two cartons were nestled. When I first opened the package, I was surprised to find that all of my necco wafers were cracked and crumbly. I'm on my fifth roll out of the box, and it's the same as the first- Pieces and crumbs make up about 85% of the roll. You wouldn't think this would happen in shipping given the way they were packed. The box was most likely dropped before being packed for shipping.
If you want your neccos to arrive safely, make sure you order from Spangler. br>The box I ordered arrived a day early, was carefully packaged, and the items were extremely fresh! I was relieved to discover that they were shipped in a box, which was securely packed inside another box (protected by foam inserts), and that there was a third box outside of that! Although it may appear silly, all of the candy arrived in perfect condition! I bought these in 6-packs when I first bought them. They have been hit or miss (between 25%-%) in packs they have been hit or miss in packs they% 75% broken in each roll) but they appear to be all intact in this shipment! These are also the freshest neccos I have received from Amazon! I'm glad I went big and got the 24-inch screen. pack box!.
Necco chocolate wafers are delicious, except when they arrive broken and cracked. Not sure how this happened, the outer box wasn damaged, the packaging looked good when opened, but about 50% of the wafers were broken, cracked or powdered. br>br>It could have happened between the distributor and the manufacturer. However, it dissuaded me from purchasing the item.
