I've placed two orders for Walkers Liquorice Toffee and have yet to receive anything I didn't request.
Glucose Syrup , Sugar, Sweetened Condensed Milk (from Whole Milk) 21%, Vegetable Oil (Sustainable Palm Oil), Black Treacle 5%, Natural Colour (Vegetable Carbon 7%, salt, emulsifier (E471), aniseed oil
Oh yes! Mine were actually more fresh than the ones I bought from the English Market. There doesn't appear to be much of a market for toffees here in California. Mine was delicious and fresh!

(We liked how they looked like cigarette packs. ) ) And, like many others, I think Walkers Nonsuch Licourice Toffees are on par with Callard and Bowser's - That is to say, they are strong but creamy, last a long time, and are incredibly tasty. br>br>I started with just two of the small bags to see how they worked - In about a week, I ate those up. So I upgraded to the Big Jar right away, and I couldn't be happier to know that I'll always have these toffees on hand, because they're that good (and addictive). br>br>I should also mention that R and I Jones, Ltd, the UK distributor for these candies, is absolutely fantastic. notch. Both of my purchases arrived in a flash - up to two weeks prior to the scheduled delivery date It doesn't get any better than that! br>br>I'm thinking of giving these toffees as Christmas gifts to licorice fans I know, just to spread the dark black joy.
Since then, I've tried a variety of licorice candies in the hopes of finding something similar. I've seen a lot of Callard and Bowser "alikes" that have disappointed me. I was disappointed by licorice "caramels" (which were too soft and sweet) and other licorice "toffee" candies that claimed to be similar to the Callard and Bowser that I remember fondly. br>br>Walkers has it spot on. As with the C, B, these Nonsuch Licorice are a firm, absorbing, satisfying chew at first, but they soften up nicely after a while. They have a nice licorice flavor to them. According to my recollection, the C Although the B toffees had a more buttery/salty flavor, these Walkers Nonsuch licorice toffees are perfectly fine. They're fantastic in every way.
If you or someone in your household is taking diuretics, which lower potassium levels, Bringing in something so delicious that does the same means that if they go too far, potassium levels could fall to dangerously low levels, causing a deadly heart rhythm. If you decide to purchase it, do your research and exercise caution. br>As for me, I don't know. Who looked everywhere for Callard and Bowsers toffees before realizing they were no longer produced? I keep the jar hidden behind a box of natural almonds and only use it as a special (and amazing) treat. Fresh and quick delivery.
I expected to be disappointed because in my search for a Callard, I had tried dozens of licorice toffee/caramels. My hopes were dashed when I tried the Bowser substitute, only to be disappointed by the taste and consistency, which fell far short of my expectations. So, that's the end of my search. Walkers Licorice Toffee is as close to Callard Licorice Toffee as you can get. Anyone can get as much Bowser licorice candy as they want. The flavor is just right - strong but not to the point of being overwhelming It has a wonderful smooth, hard, yet chewy texture. You can either suck the candy until it softens enough to chew or suck it until it goes away. My order was delivered ahead of schedule. I purchased two tubs - one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom. I'll keep one for myself and my sister will keep the other. It's possible that she won't be able to get it! This is something I'll order again and again.
I'd set aside some money to buy a box of eight pieces for the unbelievable price of $. In a time when a three-ounce candy bar cost only $, 50 was a significant amount of money. When they became unavailable in the United States, I sobbed. My sister discovered these and informed me that I needed to order them right away because they were identical to Callard and Bowsers, but in a different package. They arrived in just three days after I ordered them. I'm in a happy place. I have to limit myself to only four per day or I'll become ill.
Then it vanished from the market and was never seen again. My daughter discovered Walkers and, knowing how much my sister and I enjoy licorice, she placed an order for us. WOW - It tastes exactly like the licorice that we've been looking for for a long time. I now keep at least two jars in my pantry because I don't want to run out. I sent some licorice to a friend who enjoys it as much as I do. She called to tell me it was the best licorice she'd ever had.
These taste exactly like the Callard, according to my memory. I used to eat Bowser licorice toffees by the pound when I was a kid, but they were sadly discontinued 20 years ago. They even have that tough chew that softens as your mouth warms up and you chew it. I'm ecstatic to have stumbled across these! I've already placed an order for a second jar because I'm sure they won't last long: Shipped from the United Kingdom and received in good condition with a 10-month shelf life. Shipping was free and took two weeks (one week sooner than expected), so it wasn't too bad. It's a little pricey, but given that they shipped for free from the UK, I'm sure some of the cost is to cover shipping and export/import fees. It's 1. 25 kg (2. 75 lbs) and I had 142 pieces in my jar, only one of which was unwrapped.
My favorite candy when I was younger was BlackJack licorice toffees. They were squares of black, pink, and white. Then they made them round like peanut butter kisses, but they weren't quite as good. I hadn't seen them in years, but I bought these on the off chance that they tasted similar, and they do. They're a little harder and chewier, more like good salt water taffy that needs to warm up in your mouth a little before you can pull it apart, rather than the round junk you can buy now. These are almost identical to Blackjacks in flavor, sweet and licoricey but not overly so, with just the right amount of pull. They're solid black discs that are round in shape. I first bought a small bag to see if I liked them, but they were gone so quickly that I had to buy the larger jar. Licorice fans will love this gift.
