Despite having no problems with the plastic insert, I did have a little problem with the cardboard. The cupcakes I made didn't have a lot of height. The tops of the cupcakes were flat rather than having the typical dome shape. In my experience, inserts work better with that shape, because with my flats, they were very similar in height to the insert. The inserts caused the cakes to tear, so it wasn't My solution ended up being to remove the insert from the box and pack the cakes.
There were no more of these of these company, so I bought some more from another company since these were sold out. These were incredibly easy to put together and I was impressed by their durability. They fit my 3in hot chocolate bombs, which I was even able to package separately before placing in the box and still had plenty of space.
