Three boxes were sent to me when I ordered them. I haven't been able to locate them since last year, so I don't know if they are still available.

As far as I can tell, they are "okay". However, they are not the same as the Salerno Cookies made in the past in Chicago. I disagree with the box's assertion that these are "The Original", since the appearance of the box would suggest as much. The one I have was fresh dated by Snyders Lance in Charlotte, North Carolina, and distributed by them. In the same way as the cookie inside, the box is a mock up of the past. a plastic tray with four dividers (about 18 cm. Two dozen cookies each) fill The Cookie has a way too LIGHT color without sloping down on the edges like the original cookie of days gone by. The original Cookie had more of a tan baked color. It is extremely hard to chew this cookie, almost to the point where it is almost hard to bite. As for taste, well, it does remind me of the original taste a bit, but it may be a little more sweet and have less butter flavor to it. Apparently some cookie makers tried to bring them back to life but were unsuccessful, in my opinion. It has just the right texture and is delicious to eat.

In spite of the exorbitant price of these cookies, I bought them. As a child growing up in the Midwest, I used to eat them with my grandparents. You put them on your finger and nibble away. Ice cream on the side is always a good choice. I feel like I am transported back in time!.
As good as they used to be, they're just as tasty now we remember them all from our childhood.
They have good quality, but they are expensive. I probably won't buy again.
It was a little difficult to believe how small the box was for the price I paid! This brand of cookies has always been my favorite, but I won't buy.
I'll order them again since I liked them so much.
