It's hard to resist butter biscuits like these. It's wonderful that the biscuits are packaged in individual packs of five so the freshness is preserved. I ordered the fruit ones as well, but they tasted stale and chewy, and the chocolate covered ones were all melty when I received them in Florida. The bite sized Pierre butter biscuits I originally bought at Homegoods were 2 for $2. Buying all they had at 99 cents a box was not much of a hassle. These can be found online, albeit for a bit more money, but at least they are accessible online.
These butter cookies are much less flavorful and fulfilling than the ones you buy at the grocery store. Shortbread butter cookies are the best cookies from Pepperidge Farm's Dublin line, and these ones are out of this world! It was the sugar cookies with a hint of butter flavor that I was expecting from St Michel's Butter cookies. But I did not get that. I bought them for my French boyfriend (who is a big chocolate fan) and he liked them very much. I found the plastic inside the boxes sealed, so I figured it would be fine. The boxes were not dented, and the cookies were not broken inside. It has a delicious taste, is light, and is nice!.
It is possible that they could have been good little cookies if they had been were packed as part of a big box full of heavier things, so during transportation they just rattled around in the box and by the time they arrived were just crumbs.
