The BEST rum cake I had was made by my mother (back when she was alive). There is so much flavor and it could sock you in the face. With her recipe as a guideline, I can make it nearly as delicious as she did. Due to a lack of time, I decided to try this instead of reading the paper this year. My surprise was certainly a pleasant one. The scent is obviously not as strong as my mother's It is nevertheless rich and has a depth of flavor. Fresh as a daisy. Thanksgiving leftovers were frozen after I served it and had some leftovers for Thanksgiving. Having defrosted it for Christmas, I was able to enjoy it as fresh as when it was first received. There are no longer any left because it was eaten up and complimented quickly. My chances of getting one next year are pretty good too!.

I was surprised by the speed at which the package arrived. It's so nice the way they packaged it! There was a plastic shrink wrap covering the cake. Rum was the first thing I smelled when it was very fresh. I have never eaten a cake this moist! Despite the fact that it is rum cake, the rum is good, perhaps a little strong, but I like it. I've been making this cake for several years now. Every year between Thanksgiving and New Year, I typically catch it a couple of times. My friends also really liked it, so I gave it to them.
